how do I get around this, I install an application then go to open it/activate and it says:
current user does not have does not have priviledges to perform activation.Run this application from a User Account with Admin priviledges or contact System Admin.

Sounds like it thinks you're on a second user account on your comp mate, and not the admin account, i'm not that familar with Vista, but if you log out off windows on your current account/user profile, there might be another to log into which is the Admin user/profile, then you should be allowed to run it maybe.
Another thing it could be, which might be an incompatability issue, is the program wasn't designed to run on Vista, i remember getting a similar message trying to install Battlefield 2 on a Win ME comp, and then i discovered it was Win XP upwards only, so that could also be an issue, so check the programs compatability with Vista out too.

i get them messages..just click 'continue' and im ok. :)
unless what av said, your logged on with another account.
i dont mind the nag messages, i like the security :naughty:

You may need to change your account type to admin.
