Based on act 1 :scene5: Through her eyes from LP **[Metropolis Pt. 2:Scenes from a Memory]**.This cover was done with a little help from my friends.
JFK: piano, chorus
Sunny: acoustic guitar
nu: bass guitar, chorus
Solitude: vocals, drum programming & final mix
I added *Jay Beckenstein's sax solo on the outro (which is unfortunately left off of the final mix of the original release in 1999).
We hope you like it.

This is very professional indeed. I guess the drums need more presence in the mix but I always say that :)

This is really superb.

FANTASTIC to hear my favorite band covered....even if it is one of the lighter moments!!!! Which I LOVE!!!! They are just so diverse, and such exceptional musicians, you can get every color and flavor on one album!!!! In my book...Perfection on the track fella's!!! That soft, mellow vibe is just wonderful!!! Mix was real good...i to wouls have liked a slight bit more presence to the drums, but that aside....GREAT!!!! And Solitude!! Your vocals really captured this bro!!! Lovely tone and quality to your voice.....EXCELLENCE!!!!! Great post and from me.....................................
BIG 5+!!!!!!!!!!:thumb: :yourock:

I actually only have the DVD of the Scenes From A memory live in New York thing. The only DT thing i own. But its definately awesome and mega creative. This was actually my favourite tune from it lol. Im a big ballad loving softy at heart and always have been. Something about them which lets you delve deep down into yourself and ask questions about everything. WHich i enjoy doing.

The use of a saxaphone ? on the solo is inspired. Petrucci's guitar solos OWN on it but the sax is stunning too. Considering that the Sax used to be the main solo break instrument before the electric guitar really took off helps.

The vocals hear are lovely too and found myself singing along.

I have to say... when you hear a really great cover. you know it because you forget its a cover in the first place. It just comes accross as a top class production and a top class song with great performances all round. Thats the big sign really to tell whats truly 5 star worthy and what isnt. And this is indeed. And so its gonna get another 5 stars from me.

WTG fellas. A fabulous cover of a tune i love. awesome.

I normally find Dream Theatre hard to really groove too . I appreciate these guys are all virtuosos , but this particular track has grabbed me totally , i like the dedicated confident Vocals , and also the mix is superb , bass acoustic etc , all mixed with a Ken-wood !! . Harmonies too shine out . ...........

Guys its early Monday 12.12 in the morning , this is the perfect tune to compliment my medium French white !!. Brilliant

BIG 5 GUYS SUPERB

Not the typical DT sound. The sax is excellent and a nice change of pace to hear at a guitar site. The vocal performance is very heartfelt and passionate. Excellent track.

Beautiful song covered from a simply mindblowing album from the perfect prog band...what more could you want???! When I first heard this track in 99/00, I felt it summed up how diverse DT could be...George Michael could have covered this one. As part of a concept album based on the former life of a murdered woman lived thru a man (heavy!) this is one of the more peaceful moments and beautifully written.

Great recording and version...not many dare to try and cover DT...well done. :yourock:
