While in my local music store checking out Vox amps, I stumbled upon a blast from the past...an old RS140. They had a tag of $150 USD on it but I ended up getting it for $130. Some scratches but no fretwear, rust, or any playability issues. Very low action and buzz free with no fret outs. I restrung it with D'Addario 10s, reset the intonation and corrected the saddle height...viola! It plays beautifully and I love the tone from all the pickups. All in all a pretty good score.

Now that is lovely Stingx. It looks very playable as well. Fantastic price as well. Since I got my 2nd hand axe I've been really happy with it so may start looking for another bargain.

The Roadstars were cool guitars ... I had an RS525PH (purple haze) - one of only 6 in UK with that combination of gold hardware and metal flake wine-red/purple colour (according to the shop) ... and I loved it till it was stolen with my car after a rehearsal in November '87 - while we were kickin' back in a local club afterwards (sob). It cost me 4x the value of the car it was in the trunk of ... and it wasn't insured. Got the car back the next day - but no guitar :maddance:

Still miss it ... The Ibanez Pro-Rock'r trems were incredible - much better than Floyds ... and that was the last line made by Ibanez to carry the Pro-Rock'r before Floyd sued 'em.

BTW - nice acquisition Pete ... hope ya enjoy it.

I had a Roadstar II I think it was...there was mine which was like a red, yellow sunburst (commonly known as the gary Moore model) and also a blue one which I think was known as a Lukather...could all be crap-I'm very gullible!

Nice find mate...be worth some money one day soon. :D

edit: Oh, I also briefly had a black one around the same time but no idea what it was...except it was a Roadstar! No locking nuts tho...
