Hey guys, is there any diffrence quality wise between recording through Line In and recording through USB??
I ask because my soundcard isn't that good and wondered if i would do better using USB to record through instead?
Any advice is apreciated:)

I cannot comment on recording direct in to soundcard. I have always recorded via USB and I have always found it faultless and cystal clear.;)

Hey Bahamut, what soundcard do you have? What program do you use for recording? If you post a lil details you might be surprised at how things can change without having to change gear. That happened to me, when a friend told me how to fix up my PC for playing-recording.
I have a cheap (72 Euro) SB Audigy LS, and it works great for me.

Yeah i use Audacity and a soundblaster 7.1 soundcard m8.
I use a V-amp2 straight into my comp using the line in/out , and my own custom guitar into that:)
I just wondered if the quality of my tone would sound better going through via USB cable instead of Line in/out ?, unfortunatley the V-amp2 dosen't have a USB or digital out.
Hope this makes sense m8:)

Hey thats a similar setup as mine, I also use Audacity & a SB. Well, for what its worth, when I tried the XTL through USB, I really did not notice any improvement on tone (playing that is, not recording), and I listened to it very carefully. Then tried to see if there was any difference on the recording sounds. Again nothing different. So I went back again to the line in, basically because not having (to me) any differences, whenever I wanted to listen to music or whatever, itīs a pain having to keep the pod turned on, cause if itīs off and youīre using it as a soundcard it wont work.
I use Asio4all drivers, and here are the basic settings for recording. Hope this helps.
