i'm looking to get my music copyright'd. does anyone know what legit sites there are to check out and where i can file for this. and of course does anybody have any tips or watch out for info on this subject. i have heard of the " poor mans" copyright. but does it actually hold ground in court? everything i have done is on my pc which usually dated and all. imo opinion that should be enough to prove it was mine first. i think i may speak for most of us musucians. all or creativity and passion in music is not meant to be stolen by someone and, have them rake in the dough, and credit for something we expressed so deeply into our instruments. personally i'm not in it for the money, though i would never say no to it if it ever came my way. but it's my passion and dream to play my music for everyone to hear and enjoy.
thanx

a good way to cover yourself is to puyt all the songs you want copywritten on a CD and mail it to yourself... then keep the package unopened somewhere safe. Might wanna put any lyrics in there along with it too... it's a good recognized way to cover yourself...
Also... the site purevolume.com automatically copywrites any lyrics, MP3's you upload to your artists page. So thats a cool way to keep em safe. But yeah... first option is a good one mate. And its low cost.
But I'll let someone more informed chime in with other ways...
