My son has always been interested in music. Both my husband and I are musical. My son started showing interest in guitar at age 2. He has EVH posters in his room. On top of that, he's been making up songs since he could talk and they're pretty good IMO. He always talks about starting "HIS" band and being a rock star. Well he started his lessons last week and I am happy to report that his teacher says he's a natural. He shows him something and my son picks it up right away. When we sit down to practice he just tosses it out there like nothing. I'm so proud! I just had to share! :D

Wow, that is fantastic. Glad to hear it. He is about 15 years too late though or he could have had a chance to front Supernova. :D I reckon he will do well on his own though. I'd recommend getting him some multi-track software and recording some songs for you to post up here, so we can give him some feedback. I think he will do fine so long as you don't try to make him learn all No Doubt and INXS songs. Ain't talkin' Bout Love would be a good one for him to start on. :thumb:

That's cool, I wished I started playing at an earlier age, but good luck to him, and it's good to hear of young Musicians.

He's only 7. Some of his song titles are "I Wish the Summer Would Never End", "If You Want to Rock" and "Attitude Adjustment"...LOL (so cute)

As for his music... I hope he does play No Doubt and INXS... But I'm sure his father will influence him on the harder stuff. Trust me, he likes all his Dada's old heavy metal  ...

Oh and he like Elvis too... http://www.woofboard.com/forum/images/smilies/elvis.gif

BTW~ Are you still watchin RS?Well, I kind of fell into using a higher end recording software package because a friend happened to be able to hook me up with it, so that worked out well for me. However, that left me not having to do any research as to what all is out there that might be less complex and more in tune with the experience level that you and your son are currently at. StingX seems to often be messing around with a variety of atypical software packages, so he might be the one to ask. :dunno:

I still watch RockStar, but have had troubles catching it the last couple weeks (the performance shows on Tuesdays) because of unforeseen things popping up on Tuesday night for some reason. I hope to catch it tonight though.

Start? I've played for about 5 or 6 years now. Not with a band or anything. Just for myself. I love it but have not mastered it. I have played the flute for over 20 years and that's my real talent. I also sing and Salsa Dance. I love playing Spanish music mostly but I am working on my Rock-n-Roll career! LOL

Hi sting... ;)
Well, I don't agree with that. No Doubt and especially INXS both have some very cool tracks. I don't want him to limit himself to one genre. Honestly, I will be happy with whatever he chooses as long as he feels it and enjoys it. As I said, he likes his Dad's stuff but he is also open to what I like which tends to be more pop. Put it this way... My son loves HipHop dancing and krumping and even tho he's only practiced with me, he's getting it! I wanted to put him in lessons but his dad said no way... :dunno: Anyway, he's into all kinds of music and I support that 100%!

No, I never have. I was recorded once singing Kareoke at a bar "Time After Time" but I don't have any equiptment of my own. I'd like to get some tho so I can share some things now. I just have no idea what to get or how to use it. Wolf and I always said we were gonna do something together but we never got around to it. I'd love to do "Push Comes to Shove" and "So This is Love" for this site. Both songs that I LOVE to sing and do fairly well.
