I signed up here a while back but I've finally had a look round and like what I see even if it does feel a bit like Guitars 102 ;), anyway thought I'd introduce myself with my latest (and possibly greatest - not that that's saying too much) creation.

It's not really finished in that there maybe another version of this at some later point with a solo and some singing/screaming added, but I'm leaving those parts to some people who are more capable than me. So this is almost certainly the last iteration that's just me.

Sounds like a really cool foundation. I like the way you spread the guitars out a bit in the mix. I hope you can get it finished up I'd sure like to hear it. Welcome. :thumb:

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to making the mix, but the ~3/4 left right panning of the guitars seemed to make for a bigger sound.

If it ever does get finished I'll update this thread, but I'm waiting for other people now. I hope the fact I posted a WIP doesn't break forum rules (a WIP forum would be cool btw if anyone out there is listening?) but from my point of view I'm done with the track and wanted to get feedback before my more talented accomplices made the thing sound good ;).

that sounded real good man! i'm a bit of a death metal fan and i thought that sounded pretty brutal dude! it would sound great with some growl or scream!

I really appreciate the listen and comments. I've got the perfect "growler" on board to do the vocals, and I'm really looking forward to see what he comes up with.

Though I suspect it may be a while before he finds the time to do his bit.

Really good Bro....

What all did you use? Programs...etc. Whatcha use for drums?

I can't tell but I don't think there's a bass on there...

But, very good!

Cheers for the listens and comments, Ukelele and macman it's great to get the feedback!

Saint: it was recorded with Cubase LE (lame edition?) which came with my little Zoom G2.1U pedal... the guitar sound is all from that pedal too connected directly via USB. Drums are using the "Universal Sound Module" VST which was included in Cubase. There's no bass but one of the guitar lines is doubled up and pitch shifted down an octave (though pretty quiet in the mix) mainly just to occupy a bit of that frequency space.

Ok, cool.

I downloaded it and converted to AAC file in itunes...sounds better.

So you used MIDI drums? I wish I knew how to do Midi....I use a program called Drumsite....you basically sort of lay the tracks out like tab. I have Battery and some other drum crap but can't figure them out, so I just use Drumsite.

I'll post something up here later tonight.
