looks like an old Kays catalogue guitar to me. Really need a photo of the headstock for id purposes though.

Pic any good? Really strange thing is there is filler on the head and the seller said he was left handed. It was only later that my wife had the idea this guy may have been trying to convert this to LH'er.
Actually sounds quite nice though.

I cant Identify it for you. But that could become one hell of an axe if you did it up. I dunno about the left handed thing, looks more like he was gonna make a 3 & 3 headstock (like a Flying V) and cut the top off... no?

It looks like it could be an heit or teisco. It actually resembles a number of the guitars pictured at http://www.vintaxe.com/. Stop over there and go through the gallery pictures...especially the Japanese and European ones. I bet you'll find it.
Thanks all.
VintAxe was interesting. Mine is made in Japan and some of the Japanese ones have some close resemblance but not the exact model. It looks like you're on the right track though.

Forgot to mention in OP, it's got a really thin body.

If the headstock shape was modified I would guess this might me a Harmony guitar. I seen a few that look similar to this in pawn shops and antique shops that still had the Harmony headstock logo.
In the late 70's the Harmony name was sold to be used on Asian guitars.
Wish I could say for sure. It looks like it's in good shape if it is a late 70's Harmony.
Anyone else have a guess? :dunno:

I agree that it looks alot like a teisco guitar. As for the extra holes in head stock..looks like an attempt at a headstock mod.....:dunno:

my dad had one similar to this in the 70,s. he gave it to me when i started playing. it was my first guitar. the name on it was holiday. i think he said he purchased it from sears robuc or radio shack but it was a department store product.
