Ok Ive only had this amp a few weeks, still figuring it out, but really enjoying it! A couple of things to keep in mind if you watch this video:
- I set most of the dials fairly neutral, although I accidently left the treble up a bit on the crunch and ultra channels - coupled with the video camera's poor sound, wooden floorboards and open back combo poistion in the room - it sounds a little high in treble to my ears. The JSX is not a dark sounding amp like an uberschall but it sounds much more ballsy with the bass/res/pres tweaked (and also at higher volumes!).
- I stomp on a few effects but its mostly raw amp: EVH phase90, Boss MT2 (bit fizzy, might get that thing modded) and Cry Baby from Hell wah.
Sounds great with a good OD pedal.
The amp also works really well with my podxtl with some tweaking! Anyways...

Great clip. Love the tonal variety. Your playing is very good, you make it seem effortless. I like the way the video was captured. Could you elaborate a bit on what you recorded the video with?
Thanks,
Pete

Oh I thought the video captured the amps sound badly - its an old cheap sony dv cam - TRV19? Infact if you listen to the bit where I hit the crappy MT2 pedal on and my legs move in front of the amp - it makes it sound like a wah wah! next time I will experiment more to capture the amp better. I have a shure57 I might be able to connect straight to the cam or maybe I should record the amps sound seperately into my 8track and mix it with video on the PC (I use ULEAD video studio)? Anyway cheers. I want to do another one this weekend showing the podxtl through the amp - I just got the metal upgrade pack and am also enjoying its amp sims. HEAPS better than the factory podxtl amps!

I was more impressed with the video quality at that compressed format for YouTube. All camcorder internal mics sound like crap so don't be too harsh about the audio quality. If you are going to do a serious video, you need to spend the extra time to sync a good quality recording to the video. That's the only way. More than adequate for YouTube though since you are going to compress to make it easier for 'net use. It still did a decent job of getting the point across in the clip. I have a Sony handycam as well. Just been experimenting with different compression rations using Super (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html). Amazing, free conversion program. Your video was shot quite nicely. Thanks for the info.
Please let me know when you do another as you described above. I'd love to listen and do a comparison.
Oh, by the way, I accidentally edited your post when I thought I hit "quote". That's why you'll notice the "edited by stingx" at the bottom. I put it back the way it was. :)

Cool stuff Paul! Nice collection of tones and chops. I'm with Stingx about you being a bit hard on yourself about the quality. Sounded good to me. :thumb:
