...yeah, I did. But really, the fast stuff is something I rarely plays, just for fun sometimes and never on stage.
No one can play like him but it's fun to try!

It's me playing over a BT, but this time I tried to get it into more like a song than just play improvised stuff like I normally do to backingtracks.

The first melody parts is recorded in four steps, and the last melody is actually a one-take-part!

I think it came out pretty well!
Let's here what you guys think about it?

http://www.forssy.se/korvforsman.mp3

Sometimes the files on my server is "removed because of exessive download" and if that happens, just let me know so I can upload it again!

Hope you enjoy this one, I know I do! He he he! :thumb: ;)

Excellent. You do a much more convincing Yngwie than a certain pirate I know. Although he does have the threads!

Stellar stuff Forsman u've really got the Yngwie style down and ur playin is tight man. Loved the tune also and would love to here more of this genre on the site but that'd be askin for too much i reckon! I'll give this a vote for song of the month for sure!!! Great job:thumb: Who's this pirate u speak of N-Alips???:headscratch:

Thank you guys!
Maybe I can record some more in this style some other time, but I usually never plays like this, stopped doing it in the beginning of the 90's.

The reason to why I recorded this song was to help a friend to win a guitar duel.:notme:

I played it, but he took the credits for it! :D
And it is only he and I (him and me ??) that knows about this! He, he, he!!

If he won? Of course...

mange, du säger inget om det här!! haha!

Who's this pirate u speak of N-Alips???:headscratch:

I thought he was talking about me for a moment until I realized I don't know the chap . Anyway, this is some tasty playin mate. I love the tone you get when using the wah. I didn't get a massive Yngwie vibe from it, although some of the diminished stuff was a heavy slab of his style for sure. It was certainly some smokin chops anyway. Right on  :thumb:

I was wonderin when u'd drop by on this 1 DB with Yngwie bein in the title and all!!! I have to say i downloaded this when i heard it first and i've listened to it about 20 times since,i love it! I'd class it as a Scandinavian twin duel jig with a lot of Yngwie licks. It's played to perfection and i'm surprised there's been so few comments given it's been up for a bit now:dunno:

lol, I have been kinda busy with a different site lately, but now that Eric is starting to open back up the different subforums rather than having them all merging into one I feel more inclined to try and post a bit more. It's a bit difficult thinking of something meaningful to say after so many years of commenting on peoples tunes. I dunno how you guys can do it, it feels so repetitive to me and I don't want to say the same thing to each and every dude who comes along. They deserve more than that in my view.

Well, my playing is certainly NOT perfection in anyway. If you would hear the solotracks without the BT you wouldn't be that impressed anymore...
Nah, just kidding, it's really not that bad, but it's not perfect in any way.

Like I said; I usually never play this way, just for fun sometimes when I feel that I have to practice my speed skills.

The reason to why I'm not posting more comments on other peoples songs is that i don't have a good command of the english language. I guess I make myself understood, but I don't get the feel when I don't write in my own language.

Anyway, cool that you dig my little "guitar-masturbation" as we call it in swedish!

It's almost 2 pm here, and I'm going to give my daughter a lift to her guitar lesson. Yeah, I know I could teach her myself, but I'm not that good at theory and I think it's a good thing for her to learn it from someone who has patience enough... I know I don't! :D

Later on when she gets a little more experienced then I can teach her some cool stuff - hopefully, maybe she's the one giving me a lesson! haha!

Anyway, see you later!

Blablablabla!

I'd love to have some comments on my english, I will not be angry if you correct me, in fact... that's the only way for me to learn!

Btw... what does this smiley mean? ---> :tmi:

I didn't mean why are you not posting on songs,I just meant that not many people had commented on this tune which is odd to me considering I think it's excellent! Being a guitar forum i'd expect more comments on a song that's as cool as this and played as well as this! Not eveyone likes this style though so i presume that's the answer. Not me obviously!!!:thumb: Your english seems fine to me though other than the fact you misunderstood that 1 thing said. It's definitely better than my Swedish!

Yea I think it goes in waves with people posting I know I try to take time out to take a break from playing music after all the hard work is done to relax and enjoy some of it so it takes me a bit to get around to all of the new music but im glad I didnt miss this tune.

And your English sounds great and its great that you ask questions if you dont understand a coment by all means ask for interpritation rawwwk!! On!! man:rock:

Dammit Mr. Forsman, you never cease to amaze me! You've got a lot under your sleeve. :yourock:

Great tone, the wahwah parts are pure ear candy! :boobies:
The "main theme" sounds like Vinnie Moore from the 80's to me.

Well, I agree with you, cheating isn't a good thing to do, but the guy who challenged him was really cocky so it was a pure pleasure to make him loose.
Hehe.

Anyway, the guy that I helped are having some trouble now, because his friends keep asking him why he has not shown those skills before, and especially one guy said: "- You have to play that part in OUR song, it was really fast and cool!!"
So, the guy is actually under real pressure now! Hahaha! I wonder if he would have asked me to play the song if he knew what he knows now!

I hope this makes sense, again my english... :tard:

I don't know how this forum works, but on other forums we use to.... if someone makes a new thread and says: "Hey, I found a cool BT, let's hear your versions of it!" Then like 10-15 guys record their versions and it's really interesting to hear all different ways that you can approach the same piece of music. No two versions sound the same, which of course depend on the fact that we're all humans!

Here at guitarblast I can only find threads where two members battle it out with each other.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a thread like the one I described above?

Great playing man very nice neo stuff :thumb:

….the guy that I helped are having some trouble now, because his friends keep asking him why he has not shown those skills before….

He deserves whatever he gets, there is too much of this crap around on the net. I’m sure that for your part in it, your intentions were well placed but if the idea was to put an egotistical arse in his place, why not just duel the guy yourself?

....Wouldn't it be cool to have a thread like the one I described above?...

Collaborations over backings occur all the time here, sometimes it’s several player’s over a pre-made backing or an original or a cover etc… usually people just get together to collaborate by messaging one another but there isn’t a specific thread for it, it’s a good idea.

...The reason to why I'm not posting more comments on other peoples songs is that i don't have a good command of the english language....

Your English is “news reporter” perfect, post away

Well, this was the first time I ever helped someone with this kind of cheat and certainly the last time too. It was fun in the beginning, but after a while I felt like "Hey, it's actually ME playing!!" but, I promised the guy to never say something, so I guess I have to live with it.

And when it comes to the guy that I helped, he doesn't really regret that he asked me, but he won't do it again.
Anyway, he and I have become very good friends and talk on the phone very often, so I guess something good has come out of this mess after all!

Btw, I have already dueled the "egotistical arse" ... :notme: But that time it was me posting the song, of course I won that duel too... :o

funny how you know enough english to write all this but claim it isn't good enough to comment on anyone elses stuff. out of 27 posts all but 3 are on your own stuff. that is not how it works around here. this site is full of great guitarists and singers and before they will give you their time you must give them some of yours. that is why not many are replying to your songs. a simple "nice job" or "you suck" will do as it will let us know that you at least took the time to listen to the other songs here. there is a great song posted by jpf with sage and murph. i suggest you start there as it is a killer song and deserves your comments. naganom has a great satch song posted too. give it a listen

It's not the amount of text that I'm referring to. What I mean is that if I hear something really good I can not express the feelings into words, but if a "very good" or "great" will do, so okay I'll post comments.

Btw, do you guys comment each others mixes and so on? If you think the lead guitar is a couple of dB to low or high, if the bass could have some more mid etc. etc. or do you specifically ask for that kind of advise?

Me myself think that is very good comments to hear sometimes, because your ears tend to get tired after a couple of hours of recording.

It's 6.18 am here and I'm going to work now!

I kinda feel the same when commenting sometimes. But I often try to do like eamon says and just write something like "good job" to show that I listened and ejoyed it at least.
Feels kinda stupid sometimes, but I think it's appreciated.

When it comes to giving advice it's probably appreciated most of the time, if it's constructive and all of that.

Yea bro....just relax and get into the swing of things here.....as Eamon said...you really need to comment on the other folks stuff, they'll be a hell of a lot more receptive of yours then!! And really, your writtten english is just fine...you seem to convey your thoughts just fine. I do like the thought of doing the backing track with a whole bunch of different people doing their version...in theory....just don't know if Eric can dedicate that kind of space to something so specific....anyway bro....continue...enjoy.... and get over and check out that Sadge-Murph-JPF track dude!!! IT ROCKS!!!!!! LOL!!!

Thats the way I do it - I know who comments on my music. The people that don't comment on my music - I ignore theirs as well. It's only fair.
