My favorite setting on the POD XT is Eruption minus the phaser, pretty much the best Marshall sound I have heard out of it. How about you guys?

From the Presets, I really love the one called "Bridge of sighs" without the mod thing. Hey, if you are in a mood for classic rock stuff, this guy has some amazing patches, they seem to be done for a single coil, but I love how they sound on my guitarhttp://www.robtognoni.com/line6.htm

I don't know man, I have heard some clips from the V-Amp and I couldn't tell the difference between that and the POD XT, they are both great IMO.

Ditto - I love my Vamp-Pro.
Use it live through a poweramp & it sounds incredible

I love the Roland GR300 guitar synth. I think I made a patch that is close (no way in terms of touch dynamics or tracking, but tonally...possibly)??
I am attaching 2 samples. One is my real GR300 and one is with the PODxt patch i made. Be sure you have all the latest gizmo's from Line 6 as you will need them for this one to work. It's horrid as a polyphonic...but as a mono synth, it can work imo (meaning only play slower single line runs). Also, you will want to use a light picking technique as it's picky as hell using this.
But the flipside is the GR300 will cost you about $300-$600 dollars and the GK-1 pickup about $150 (if you can find one)!! And you must mount the pickup on your guitar (which will either kill the finish with double sided tape, or you mount it with screws (which will dump it's resale value...and if it's a vintage...forget it)!! So, PODxt guys...here is something hopefully usable and close (you could always fatten it up in the mix by doubling it, chorus perhaps).

I bought a used PodXT this week and I'm wondering how to transer the patches from my computer to my Pod? I'm a real newbie when it comes to these things. :dunno:

hi mange [hope i spelt that right!!]
i would say the 1st thing to do is go to line6 site and d/l "line 6 monkey"
thats the software for drivers etc, but also you can load or save a "bundle" which is all the tones on your pod.
you can d/l their edit programs through the monkey which make it easy to load or save patches..they both do the same stuff really..they are "line 6 edit" or "gearbox" or both if you prefer.
regards,
jim.

Thanks Slicer, and yeah, you spelt it right (it's a common nickname in Sweden for my real name - Magnus).
I've been browsing the line6.com-site quite a lot and I'm gonna go there right now and download it.
I suspect that from there it's just to connect the usb-cables and transfer...

Slicer is correct. "The Monkey" will update your POD to the latest firmware, etc. USB is a nice feature that makes it all easy as can be.
