1 Getting to the gig , setting up , and realising my guitar had not
been packed .
2 Using a CD Walkman as a backup and listening to it jump at random .
3 Installing the main front pa speakers to near electric stage curtains
( Darlington Haughton -Le Skerne club ) and watching them crash to the
ground as the intro started ...
4 Arrived at the venue with Hammer ( Hard metal band ) only to find we have been booked to do a 18 year olds Birthday party
6 Using an idiot to operate an Yamaha MDF2 ,( sequencer used for playing click tracks ) when he keeps on hitting
the tempo button during songs
7 Dragging my Telecaster up and down a Marquee pole whilst drunk , to
find out later i had destroyed 70% of my frets .
8 Not having a spare Battery as the Active circuit in my guitar dried
up !
9 Placing PA speakers on smooth tables and watching one bounce off and
crush a table .
10 Accidentally plugging all the equipment into one 4 way extension (
full pa , lighting rig etc ) and smelling the lead melt and burn ,
tripping the club circuit and triggering alarms , Malleable club

Sounds nice... I've never had any of that happen to me, but then again I havent been out gigging that much.
I have opened my guitar case to find one of the tuners had fallen of the guitar...
A funny thing happened as I went with my sister to see our dads band at a local pub a while ago tho... As our dad had put his glass of water dangerously close to the PA, and it fell over and all the water spilled into the PA.
Their bass player, who owned the PA, wasnt happy :D
They had to take a paus in the gig as the drummer drove off to get a new PA.

1. Playing a gig in a local pub during a storm with a major leaky ceiling right over the stage, had to stop, move the equipment since we were standing in water. After the staff mopped up the water, and the rain quit, we played another set before lightning knocked out the power.
2. Right in the middle of playing an intricate rhythm progression, a hot looking girl walks past the stage and I forgot what the hell I was playing.
3. My analog tuner quit so I grabbed my friend's digital guitar tuner from his gig bag to pre-tune my guitar before a gig, not realizing it was set for 1/2 step down tuning. I'll never forget the horror I felt during the opening song WHICH WAS IN STANDARD TUNING.
4. My guitar strap coming undone quite a few times OR the cable getting pulled out of the guitar..(which is always at a crucial part in the song)
5. Not having a trailer for an out of town gig 250 miles away with our P.A. and monitors, my guitars in the back of my truck. We had no covering and halfway there, it came a downpour and we had to park under an overpass for an hour.
6. Our idiot manager booking us (an 80's Metal Cover band) to a small club in Austin that ended up being a Mexican Tejano bar!! We drove along way, not knowing this and for little money. We fired the manager that night. Ever seen deer in headlights? That's how the mexicans looked at us at first, then we decided to just play old classic rock and blues tunes which some of them liked.
7. Played an outside gig for a Baylor University college party at the bottom of a "dried up" 20 ft deep stock tank. The winds picked up during the first set and we all got dirt in our eyes and our equipment got covered with dirt. It got dark and we were promised lighting but it didn't happen. Had to quit early because we couldn't friggin' see! Man it was dark as shit!
8. I backed into my singers PA speaker in a parking lot and dented the front grille one night after a gig. I bought him a new one.
9. Had a few drunkards try to grab my guitar or step on my floor effects during gigs, I punched one guy and they had to throw him out.
10. One time during a set, my lead guitarist got sick and had to leave the stage for a few songs leaving me, a rhythm guitarist to have to "wing" some solos that I'd never played! Can't say that was fun...and I was white as a ghost. lol.

Oh yess-sss ... I LIKE this one Art.
1. Hearing the strains of our intro tape die away (1812 overture .. all the cannons firing and the cathedral bells pealing away in the background - you get the picture - very dramatic!) ... strumming the first majestic killer power chord to start the opener ..... NOTHING! Some b*****d had unplugged my amp to soundcheck the next band down on the bill .. and hadn't plugged me back in (1985, Swan Ballroom, Billingham, supporting the mighty BLACK ROSE - wahwah's major 80s band). Cue the captain frantically scrabbling away at the side of the raised stage, with the auditorium in absolute silence.
2. tuning all wahwah's guitars to Eb like he asked before his band's slot at a "Live Aid" style charity gig, 1985 (again). 'Cept ... he REALLY meant concert pitch, with "A" at 430Hz, like the rest of the band were tuned to. 430Hz is NOT Eb Chris (.. as he found out 1/3 way through the first number!!) ... at least you could have played one fret higher Riff, being a full 1/2 step out - Chris STILL hasn't forgiven me!!
3. Getting entangled in guitar leads with the other guitarist (Swan ballroom again - 1984). Trussed up like a maypole victim, nose to armpit with Gilly, was NOT an enjoyable experience!!
4. On the way home from a gig in Bridlington (Northern coastal town), hearing the rear axle part company and watching our transit van's rear wheel bounce merrily away into the distance down Ruswarp bank ... near Whitby (1 in 4 gradient) and straight into the river at the bottom, at 2:30am, 50 miles from home ... 1984. That's when I decided to leave the band for the first time.
5. Arriving at Thatcham Garden Silks nightclub, near Reading (near London) at 7pm ... 250 miles from home ... only for the drummer to realise he'd left his sticks at home! "Find a stick & get whittling boys!!"
6. Getting 'it' on with my then girlfriend at the back of the same tranny on the way home from the gig ... hemmed in by the pa gear all around us ... nice 'n' private 'n' cosy ... with the rest of the band upfront ... or so we thought. Van pulled onto a strongly-lit petrol station forecourt ... it was about then I realised that neither of us could move enough in the cramped space to replace our ... ahem ... dis-arrayed 'attire' :notme:. Never did find her 'undergarments'.
7. Watching my vamp-pro take a tumble off the top of my poweramp/4x12 stack at a recent gig & chop my last good guitar lead in half (MUST get it into a rack!).
8. Getting through ALL our songs at Crook Workingmen's club ... then the concert chairman says ... great lads .. what time do you want me to introduce you for the start of your SECOND half?
9. Haughton-le-Skerne club (Darlington) - same as YOU Art ... playing support to a drag act and having to cut our second slot short for him.
10. stepping on the rear hem of my 1980's long, flowing, red satin coat (pushed-up sleeves - it WAS the 80s) while climbing up the steps to the stage and ending up sprawled all over the stage with the rest of the band who followed me, tripping over my prone form ... GREAT rock 'n' roll entrance!!
