I visited Guitar Center today to look around and fell in deep love with a Taylor. I was "one" with that guitar like I have never been with any instrument. Played like a dream. Are all the Taylors like this???? Check it out:

This thing seriously outplayed anything I own (77 Les Paul, 77 Ibanez Artist, Mexican Strat, and and old Alvarez acoustic). It even played much better than a top of the line Martin. If you get a chance, play one...you will be hooked!!

I had a 71 Martin like that. Played like butter, I wish I would have kept it. I've heard the Martin quality isn't what it was and I've heard nothing but good things about Taylor. I've only played a couple but they were sweet. Not cheap but not a bad price for the features. You going for it????? If so it might give me a reason to visit Nawlins...:notme: :D
My wife's brother plays one and it sounds great. When i bought my Martin, I had the exact same experience . It is one of those hybrid half wood/half synthetic materials. I went shopping for a whole day to a number of shops, and once I played my Martin, i was done shopping and didn't even care to try any other guitars. It was a bit out of the projected budget, but I didn't care. I needed to have it. My experience sounds like the same as you described yours to be (I felt one with the guitar...it felt PERFECT and sounded amazing, played like butter). Unfortunately, over time (and not much of it), I found that this particular Martin, probably due to the hybrid of real wood and synthetic wood, it is a bitch to maintain and has never played since like it did in the store. Moisture quite easily affects the action and requires way too much maintenance and climate control for where I store it. I am ready to trade it in. Maybe I'll try a Taylor.:D I hope yours turns out to be a better long-term experience than mine.:thumb: You might need to throw down "A Farewell to Kings" or some other early RUSH acoustic tune to test it out.
ooooo...she is pretty....and a price tag to match!! LOL!! But seriously, i know of which you speak. Taylors are definitely very premier boxes...i've had occasion to play a couple myself, and they are truly a wonderful guitars. Even their least expensive models are better than most others high end gear!! Would be great if you get her Serg....would sure like to hear that!!!:woot:

If I do it, I need to let another axe go. I don't need 5 guitars. The best value is an Ibanez 77 artist in excellent condition. If I get about 850 for that one, I would pull the trigger tomorrow. I am still playing that Taylor in my mind. But to offset the price...that Ibanez needs to go. In fact....anyone who wants a killer axe..here is a pic of the guitar I will most likely put on EBAY tomorrow night:

Taylor's are quality axes - I wish I could afford one - but not at the moment.
The way you talked it up makes me wanna plunk down on one Serg. .

That Taylor "ride" was about 7 hrs ago..and I can still say it was the best playing guitar I have touched to date...plus..get this...the sales guy was offering it to me for about $1600 with case.
So buy my Artist..:) $800 for you. :)

I'd buy it from ya - but if I did then my bills wouldn't get paid!
Besides, I have my eye on a Jackson for far less than 8 bills. Just like the one Kenny has.

aye...same here. But it is well worth more. Anyone on this site...$800 and you know me..I would not rip you off...make my Taylor dream come true.
(if the Taylor is sold in the next few days..then all deals are off). :)
But to clarify...Taylor's are no doubt high quality...but there is also something about a particular guitar you bond with. This was "the one." If it goes..it goes.

I understand the 'one with an instrument'it's the same with me and my PRS. I've played quite a few of them and it's not like I'm a PRS nut and think everything they make rules but something about that guitar is IT for me. Good luck with getting your new Taylor. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. aye...same here. But it is well worth more. Anyone on this site...$800 and you know me..I would not rip you off...make my Taylor dream come true.

I love the T5 as well. I seriously thought about getting one after I played one. Plugged in the guitar was amazing. Not plugged in, it didn't really appeal to me. If money wasn't an issue I'd get this guitar for plug in only and pick up a top of the line full body acoustic for unplugged.

Well...i plopped a $400 downpayment on it, played it for another 2 hrs, plugged in, and unplugged...even against other T5's, this one was the best of even the $500 dollar more models. I have 30 to 60 days in Lay-a-way to pay up. Total price with tax was $1605. Excellent imo. Now off to sell that Ibanez...

When I read the title of the thread I was thinking of a Taylor dreadnaught or O/O, beautiful and unique warm sounding acoustics. Then I hit the link and saw what it was. At first I was reluctant, thought that was like those Ovations, which (well, the last time Iīve heard any) I just donīt like. I hit the video section on the link to listen how it sounds, and man it gave me a real good impression. I still liked the electric-side of it over the acoustic, but the acoustic sound on position 1 sounds pretty convincing. It seems like you are purchasing one good fun toy, it sure has a unique sound to it. Congrats Serge :)

Thats funny! I used to hang out for a while on his forum before 101. I didnīt pay attention to who they were. I guess it was the guy playing on the right side. Man, they both kicked major ass playing.
