For the past 4+ years, I've been using a Boss Gt-6 and it served me fairly well over that time since I have been recording with primarily classic rock tones. However, I'm looking to upgrade and reshape my sounds now as I'm just tired of the same old thing. I'm wondering what would be a good upgrade and right now I'm kinda looking at either the Vox LE or the Pod XT Live. I'm going to be plugging this into a Marshall DSL 50, so can anyone give me any reviews or advice? Thanks guys.

well it is a cheap option at $249 but I have heard very good things about the Korg AX3000G. Korg is basically same company as Vox from what I am told and the effects in the AX3000G are of similar sound quality to the Vox Tonelab...again from what I have read.
You could go try the Boss GT8 but may be too similar to the Boss Gt6 for you.
Avoid the Digitech GNX3000....not good for live use as the patch switching is too slow....yet it sounds nice so that is a shame.
I had a POD XT Live once .....It was not for me really but a lot of people love it..
best advice is go try them all out mate:woot:

I can only talk about the XTL from the ones you are mentioning. I sure think it is tweakable as hell for classic rock tones, at least thatīs what I believe. Although there are different amp packages you can buy as addons, I think there is plenty enough stock ones installed in it, oh, and one thing that it has is that effects bundle already installed in it ( I believe you have to buy it separately for the XT).
As for playing it with an amp, well, Iīve messed with it several times on some gathering with friends plugged into a Peavey classic 30, it sounds good to me if you are carefull and set it properly, but it doesnt sound well on my Cube 30, because it doesnīt have an eff return loop or whatever itīs called. My main use for it is for playing sat down here at my home PC, and the GUI it has is real friendly user.

Thanks for the advice guys. I checked out the AX3000G and the XTL online, but man that Vox LE sounds like a beautiful machine and is probably worth the extra cash.
I should mention that I'm doing mic recordings so what I really need is a unit that will enhance the DSL 50's own sound rather than reshape it all together. That's something I struggled with greatly on the Gt-6.
