View Full Version : Delta Slide Guitar
Here's my number one showcase song - Delta Slide Guitar
For those of you who know me, maybe you've heard of it.
For those of you who don't know me - please have a listen!
A lot of people like this song - I guess it crosses a lot of musical "lines" if you will. From older folks, to young kids, to metal rockers, to Bluegrass players and even your Mom.
I played this on my Fender F-210 steel string acoustic - with a Chrome slide worn on my pinky finger. Recorded on a "one take" with a mic hooked into my PC.
The song reminds me of 2 old guys fighting it out in a wheel chair chase :)

Yeah, I've played this a few times now and Love it. I can imagine Jimmy Page doing this years ago with an amazed Plant clapping along. Your playing is wonderful, thanks for posting it as it is exceptional in my ears. Big 5 from me and a nom:woot:

You know I'm well familiar with the tune, and like it alot.
But I just thought I'd ask... What gauge strings are you using on this one?

A cracking track mate, have always liked it ever since i first heard it over on 101.
Its awesome from beginning to end, and a joy to hear again, 5 stars :thumb:
Well I thought I'd post it again since Naif seems to be getting all the accolades lately - someone even called him a genius. Thats all fine - but I've been playing the Blues longer than him! And I've BEEN to Mississippi.
Plus - I don't have the time to post music everyday like so many on this board - since I drive a truck and work my ass off driving 70 hours a week - and over 5000 miles a week.
But that is going to change soon - as I am going to quit my job in less than a year.
I got back last night from the road - grabbed my acoustic and jammed my ass off - my fingers still hurt. I really should record those jams - but I need a new soundcard - I can't record right now anyway because XP doesn't like my soundcard.
I get frustrated with this site and others - because I feel I never get the recognition I think I deserve. Maybe it's because some people can't separate the man from the music. Typical human behavior.
That song Delta Slide has won me thousands of dollars in talent show winnings - yet here I couldn't win an MP3 of the month with it. That really says something about SOME people around here. And thats what frustrates me.
But thats cool - keep ignoring me! It only makes me more determined to blow your minds.

well i digged your tune it sounded great to me and your pretty good at this style :thumb: though you shouldnt realy be botherd wherether you win mp3 of the month or not, its all about having fun and sharing your music, its not a compertition of who is better:p there are many players here of all diffrent levels some not as good as yourself and some better just enjoy it for what it is:thumb:

Now this one is really my sort of thing, great, dynamic slide playing. ll I can do is make weird atonal scratchy noises, something else to add to the must learn list!
