I have a ZOOM 505 for over 10 years. Marshall got sold. Just playing at home with MIDI and BT's.
Now, what are my options in the under $125 US range ?
ZOOM G2
KORG
Behringer
Yamaha
--- others ?

I'm a classic rock player (Rush / Old Aerosmith / Beatles / Queen )
So, I'm not into grungy sounds.

I'm more after the amp sim capabilties.
I still use a Boss Delay, Boss Phaser, Boss Flanger and Original Cry Baby.
My Ibanez Chorus CS9 bit the dust a few years back, so I resort ot Zoom 505 for Chorus.

I have the guitar port. It's all I use for playing electric guitar at home. It sounds killer, is cheap, and I love it

I don't use it myself, but i KNOW for sure the V-Amp is one serious modeler....get's a whole slew of classic tones (listen to everything MuRpH has put up here) and i believe it's a mere $99.00!!!!

Budget you say? Here's an amazing sounding unit for $50 USD.

For a few greens more there's the AX5G with expression pedal.

Listen to this blues clip...pure heaven: http://www.korg.com/downloads/mp3/AX5G/Vaughan_Bluz.mp3

Edit: Sweetwater has the AX5G on sale for only $70!

i agree with both of these being a good choice. i have both. the only thing you might concider is that the toneport needs a computer so a v-amp2 might be better if you plan to play out or use a modler away from a computer. i bought a toneport because it has vocal patches for recording. so i guess it depends on how you plan to use it. either one is a good choice for the money

I will look into the Tone Port, but when someone mentioned the "computer", sure, I want that too
But I "create" guitar / zoom 505 / headphones. or with electic acousticaly.
My home PC right now is OK, but went through H3LL with previous ones on their last legs, and current home PC is a Pentium 3 and Win98. If I want to do some better recording [ I stopped a few years ago -- why waste on bandaging an old system -- wait for new one ] I'd better have a faster PC / more RAM and a better soundcard / audio interface.
That's why I thought the Zoom G2, cause it has a USB interface. But it would be ready for XP. Otherwise, analog out.

Does anyone know if G2 has same sound, but less features / less options of the G7 and G9 ? :headscratch:

Thanks for all your comments :yourock:
