Thanks to macman and HansHolz for the idea.

This thread will hopefully become an archive for all our patches. Post your bundles, patches, even text settings. If the board doesn't accept your file format, zip it up:) Also, if you have a reference mp3 for the tone you are posting, that would be great too... but not necessary.

Let's try to keep this thread nice and clean with little discussion, so it is easy to navigate. Use the thanks button:thumb:

Umm lemme see, I made these for the xlt, but maybe they can be used on other Line6 stuff. Two for Townshend sounds I tweaked a bunch, one for twangy old rnr stuff I like to use and one grabbed from Robert Tognonni´s site. He makes the best classic rock patches out there imo. Plus a great player too, check out his tunes, :thumb:

Here's the patch for Sorrow for those who asked. You will need the Collectors Classic addon, otherwise you'll have to change the amp model to something else.

Cool thread to BTW!

HansHolz

Here's a whole kit and kaboodle of stuff I use. The names are fairly self explanatory if you know the bands or the guitarists.

Among the living - Prove you're "the man". Cool Anthrax tone for all "Among the living" songs.
Amsterdam - A very raw processed VH sound for Balance covers
Bad Horsie - Go to alt tuning, get your slide out and rock up on this Vai tone.
Best of Both Worlds - This tone is really only good for the BOBW tone from 5150 and nothing else. But here, have it anyway. It's free.
Cathedral - Perfect for Eddie's volume swelling solo from Diver Down
John Frusciante - You might not be able to pronounce the Red Hot Chilli Peppers Guitarist's name, but now you can sound just like him.
Sambora - Richie's Living on a prayer tone.
Slash - Welcome to the Tone Jungle.
Soundgarden - This is the tone for the intro to Black Hole Sun
Stereophonics - Nasty little dirty tone for the Nasty Dirty little rockers from Wales. I used this on my "Help me" cover.
Vai - It does what it says on the tin.
Van Hagar - You might not like the Sammy years, but you'll love this tone.

Enjoy

Here's a little batch of my own homemade tones. Includes my leads, a couple of cleans and a crunchy warm tone I use for blues, jazzier stuff (not that I can play that stuff!). Most of the tones are based on the metal shop pack and for a couple of tones you'll need the FX Junkie and Power packs.

I need a new desktop computer as my laptop is not up to recording much anymore. It is fine for mixing tracks. So I have not used the GuitarportXT in a while but look forward to going back to using it and recording on PC & checking out some of the newer posted patches. For now I have been using a combo a Pocket Pod and my Boss BR600 to lay down tracks.

I need to get the Digitech RP250 out for a cover again soon....:notme:

Hi everyone!
These are my POD patches I used in "A night to remember".
I usually use them with EB/MM JP6 in my covers.
Please try them. I hope you like them.
Thank you.

Sorry to forget to say I use Metal Shop.

Here are a few of my patches that i've used recently.

Acoustic - This is my general starting point that i use for recording my Acoustic direct (not mic'd up), i used this on Hotel California (both versions) and a few other songs too.

Gilmour Clean - A work-in-progress for a track Mark and myself are working on, i've already used this on the rhythm for that song (and got the thumbs up from Mark :) ), and if u add some more drive, its a nice lead tone too.

Ministry Clean - Another Acoustic patch, this time from The Ministry Of Lost Souls acoustic section, its pretty much as i recorded the song with i think, its a nice little setting.

Tears In The Rain - As the name suggests, its the patch i used for the acoustic on Tears In The Rain, again, direct recording.

Steve Vai 3 - This is a work in progress based on a Vai patch i found online, i don't cover many Vai songs, but i liked the sound of this one, so i've been fiddling with it :)

Hope some of these are some use, enjoy :thumb:

Here's a few more patches from my collection.

Jamie Vocals - This is my general vocal setting, as used on everything i sing on, its probably not for everyone, but its pretty good.

Brian May Early - Another Work-In-Progress, i've been using this on songs like Tie Your Mother Down (with the chorus on) and i quite like it, probably work on quite a few of the early tracks, probably up to the Magic tour.

Joe Walsh - This is my general starting point for Walsh (Lifes Been Good/Life In The Fast Lane etc), not the tone i used on Lifes Been Good as i recorded that on the V-Amp 2, but its what i've been jamming to it with ever since :)

Blackmore Early - This is the patch i used on Hey Joe back in january, suits the Shades album quite well, probably upto and maybe including "In Rock".

Blackmore Later - This is the patch i used on Lazy earlier in the year, its roughly based around the tone Blackmore had in the late 80's, which is my personal fav, but having said that, the exact same patch sounds quite Steve Morsey as u can also hear on my cover Lazy, i used the same tone throughout.

A few more to come as yet, just gotta sort the old from the current before i post the next few, but enjoy :thumb:

Thanks Jim, you can never have to many Blackmore tones :)

Right here is a few more from me too :)

Acoustic Rhythm - Hot of the presses this one, only made this to day for a track im currently recording, its for direct recording from an acoustic, a nice strumy setting, think two tracks on either side of the mix rhythm work, with not to much volume from the input (on the acoustic pre-amp).

Satch JSX - Here's one im liking alot atm, its my newest Satch tone, based around the live sound he has on recordings like G3:Live In Denver, works well on Satch boogie, Mystical Potato Head, The Extremist and Starry Night i think.

Petrucci Lead - One i used on Ministrys for the solos, works nicely on Damage Control and Glasgow Kiss too.

Acoustic Mic - Abit more specialist this one, this is a setting i used on Acoustic Hotel California, on my SM-57 mic pointing at the center of the acosutic, this was used mainly for the rhythm work on the track.

Acosutic Mic Lead - Similiar to the above, but abit more sencitive to allow some finger playing, this was the setting i also used on Hotel California, but for all the finger played lead sections.

As always, hope they r of some use, and enjoy :thumb:

Cool! Thx, I“m interested in the vocal patch, I never got the Pod to work out well for them, but the M-Audio Fast track pro is really nice for recording with a condenser. I remember you said you bought one, havr you tried it?

Thanks Tony-Tone! Thanks for the Luka tone. I'm gonna try it tomorrow night at the gig!

Yes I tried out the Fast Track Pro a little. Not so much recently cos I had all 4 wisdom teeth out a coupla weeks ago and singing is proving difficult! lol. It took a while to get the settings right on the front and I dont like recording in Mono or one sided. Maybe I'm doing things wrong. But the results were clear and very little latency.

When I get this new PC set up and the monitors in my studio I'll be contacting you for advice on that one. You have a good ear for this stuff!

Ouch! The 4 at the same time! I feel your pain. I only had one of them pulled out years ago. My big mouth has seemed to be able to keep the rest of them in fairly good conditions, LOL!. I here you about the mono, same thing happened to me the first time I plugged in, I said wtf is going on here? Went back to grab a Y cable and voilą!

Here are some different one's I've used throughout the past year. I use some high gains as well as clean ones too.

Clean
The first one is a clean tone I use on one of our originals

Clean
The second too

Gone Disto.
distortion (high gain) patch I use on an original as well

Lead
I like this one, I mainly use it for leads and it sits good with most mixes.

Satriani-Midnight
I use this one for the song Midnight and other similar styles

Whammy
This one should be fun :)

Enjoy

I looked to see if anyone had already posted this but I don't see it.

Line 6 has a download of all the tones available on the public tone exchange in a zip file. It is updated regularly(supposedly). And it contains folders for all the different POD types.

It sure beats searching the public exchange one at a time. You just download them all at once and browse them thru Line 6 Edit.

After downloading, just unzip and navigate to the file in your Line 6 Editor, and load the ones you want.

http://line6.com/media/customtone.com/Line_6_Tone_Exchange.zip
