I am experiencing latency with this little bugger. Anyone else had the same problem and found a work around because it is playing havoc with my timing on a bass line I am trying to record.
TIA.

This video should help, mate....http://rhythm.harmony-central.com/video_popup/popup.php?url=http://img3.harmony-central.com/Video/aes121/MarcusRyleExplainsLatency.wmv
BTW sorry I can't help you personally, I have no experience with them.

Yeah that video sums it up nicely. The settings are found in Gearbox by going to edit-preferences-hardware-driver settings button. Change your buffer size and you'll hear a difference:)

actually that does help thanks :) The funny thing about those vids is it is only 2 seconds of what you need hidden in 5 minutes of what you already know

porty i have to ask you how you have your toneport hooked up to your pc and how you monitor it. this has nothing to do with your question. i was wondering about different ways to do it. right now i take the left and right outputs of the toneport and go into my soundcard and use my studio monitors for listening to it. i'm not sure this is the best way although it works ok but is there a way to hear my playing and my recording through the toneport headphone jack? or is that jack only good for practicing? i wish i knew this stuff better but i'm no engineer. i'm a guitarplayer dammit!!!lol

Lol! Arn't we all mate :)
I use mine the same way. There should be no disernable difference between the 2 methods though, except you will probably have to use a y cable and may incur a subtle loss of fidelity.

its does sum it up nicely but :) The issue I get is that the more tracks I used the worse the playback and record quality gets worse when the buffers are set to small. It is easy to work around but frustrating to have to deal with every time you do a take.
For example - when I did the it bites tune I posted recently had about 20 audio tracks going at once and about 6 VSTis/midi tracks. I can hear the effect on the final mix which caused it to sound much harsher than I would have normally accepted. after changing the buffers the sound is much improved and I am happier with the tonality of the track but if I wished to add anything I would have to play with the buffer settings and then again for playback.
I don't think it is a case of the PC not being up to the task (Core2dou E6400, 4 GB ram) - it just seems a little bit odd.
