This is my latest classic Priest cover. I share the rhythm and lead fills with my long time friend Patrick. I'm on one track panned, Patrick is on another panned track. Patrick plays the solo. Patrick also made the backing track.

Johnny Lokke is on vocals. I love Johnny's awesome vox on the ending! You gotta hear it. He nailed it.

We used to play this live in our 80's band. Recording this was just like old times. I was in Austin a few weeks ago and we recorded it mostly live through our PODS into Cakewalk. I play my Jackson JSX and Patrick played his Custom built Camo Charvel.

This song was originally a Fleetwood Mac song! Priest really cranked it up a notch and I love the song. I've invited Patrick to join our site so let's encourage him to come on board.

Enjoy.:thumb:

Right on man this is a good old classic metal tune and well done at that. Both the guitar and vocals kick ass dude, who's doing drums and bass?

Thanks for listening Eric. Patrick made the drum track and played bass. I forgot to say that! Doh. He's quite a talent. Hopefully he'll join up with us. I did this final mix although he's also working on mixing his own version. I also have a Judas Priest Tribute singer from Budapest Hungary (Rob Halford sound-alike) possibly putting vocals on this as well.

i used to play this song a long time ago also. you guys did an excellent job on it. lokke totally kicked ass on the ending. guitars were nice and powerfull sounding. the only thing i didn't care for and its pretty minor but when pactrick did his lead he let some notes ring and the pitch got off. he has to do a vibrato on those notes. it was pretty much note for note but letting those notes ring with no vibrato makes him sound like an inexperienced guitarist and i know he isn't. to me its an easy fix and then it will be perfect in my eyes

Haven't heard the song in a while, but this is a very strong cover. I'm a big fan of Johnny and your guitar work sounds right on.

Man, this is a great song. The art director at an old job I had was the equivalent of RiffAddict as far as being a long-time, dedicated Priest Fan, and he used to play the “Ripper” album from his office, and I think this song was from that album. I have been trying to find it since then. The way I know it is from the high-pitched vocal melody near the end of the song that is repeated a couple times (the one that J.Lokke squeezes his nuts to pull off). I liked the tone and the lead work on the guitars. This is a great sounding recording! Now I need to go check out Linda and bluesplayer’s version, as I assume it is more true to the original (knowing them and their tastes), so I can compare the two styles! Great post. You need to record more tunes, bro!

Cool ... or what?

Just listened to Linda & Bluesplayer's copy of the original version and I liked that one .. but this is just pure PRIEST!!

Excellent fellas.

You know what Riff? from listening to this and your guitar sound and attack, I think you'd do some real MEAN early W.A.S.P. covers too. I can hear a Chris Holmes vibe in your playing too! How about it? :toothless:

Thanks man. Funny you should say that about WASP, I recorded a WASP tune 2 years ago. It was "Wild Child". It was one of my very first pc recordings and it's not too good. The BT was weak and I was a total rookie at recording. Still am..lol
