I was quite embarrassed to post these because the room is in serious need of a paint job and recarpeting :)

LMAO!, go take a look at my stuff and you will feel a lot better with the tidy up busyness, but hey, we guys need our toy room intact and with our chaotic organizing things, haha

That is a pretty sweet home studio you got there. Not only do you have cool gear but you are obviously adept at using it.

Hey G, I was wondering how that LH line 6 guitar ( I can´t remember the name of it right now) feels like. Do you like it? I have heard tons of mp3s with them (variax?) in, and they seem to be sooo fun, very realistic sounding on the guitars it seems to emulate. Which one is it? I´ve read the only one available for LH is the 500 or so, is that yours? I´d love to listen to some "home sounds" and not corporate adds before I grab one, plus a review from a trusty guy, pleaaase! :notme:
Ahhhhh, so this is where all the majic takes place!!! Looks like you got just about everything you need there.

I like it I guess. it is a bit on the "cheap and slightly tacky" side compared to the 470's but it does its job well. There is occasional glitching on the detuned stuff and 12 strings but it is perfectly useable live. In fact Wayne Hussey (The Mission) uses one on tour. I don't really record with it as such because I prefer the VG-88. Although Line6 have come on in leaps - they still have a way to go to match Roland in the FX stakes and altered tunings. I have attached something I was working on that was recorded using the 500 and the toneport. The song was Birthday - the Beatles (no vocals) and I used the variax on a 6 string rickenbacker setting with Vox ac15 amp emulation on the Toneport. It came out okay.
For some reason Variax's are being sold off very cheaply at the moment (in the uk at least) so they are good value.
I love those pics, crafty stuff....it shows that it is the man behind the strings and knobs that makes the ultimate diference!

Axe .. Never sell a vg-88 they are the absolute best modelling system going. The 12 strings are gorgeous and the amp sims are near to heaven. Also the way the guitars respond (volume control wise) is something line6 need to look at and fast. On the plus side they sell pretty cheaply on ebay and are well worth the investment. I just wish that Roland would bring out the next gen version soon. USB, Midi thru and GT-Pro mixed with a midi pickup is absolutely a must!!! :)

You have a nice collection of goodies, Porty. I especially like the UX2, the Roland, and your computer and monitor layout. You get great results from your equipment. I like taking a look at what others use to paint their canvas.

I wonder what would happen if you placed the computer inside a small under bench refrigerator :headscratch: . i know its something i have thought about in the past , although this would be of no use to Geordie , unless he found a new home for his beers .
