Not my usual stuff - I actually wrote this for someone else but they didn't want it .. although he will be pissed if he finds out I have posted it . Not much of a lyric but a bit of fun with trying to create a rock/dance crossover. Its much darker and heavier than my usual stuff and not quite so polished. It was fun to cut up the vocals and throw effects at them and see what stuck.
Needless to say - I don't like it :D

LMAO, as I told on a post from Rid, I gotta listen to this back again at 4 AM. I was starting to see a gal belly dancing covering her eyes at around 2:00, j/K.

hahaha! yeah I see what you mean :D
Do you mind if I call you Goport Reznor?...or maybe Trent Goport? Talk about a step outside the box. This is super-fresh for your, mate, as far as taking a couple steps to the side and recording something different. I think it is great though. I like all the different programming of sounds/instruments you have going here. And of course I have a weakness for middle-eastern sounding music so I dig the "Belly Dancer" parts. :p My only complaint is that the vocals came across as low in the mix through my speakers. Would like to have heard them a bit more. The rest was finely mixed though. So, is this called "bs" to stand for "B-side" from your first solo album? :)

I always look forward to a new tune from you. This is different from your norm that's for sure, still you've managed to make it catchy. Neat tune dude, sort of heavy/dark/dance maybe like technopop.

hahaha! Trent Goport :)
the reason this is called BS is because I think it BS! I wrote it to order and I am not fond of that idea :)
KC - the vocals were actually only intended as a guide so I didn't really try too hard when I sang them, thats why they are low in the mix :)
Thanks for the listens and the compliments - I am glad you feel it is an ok tune ... maybe I was doing something right after all :)

Sounds like David Bowie meets Ravi Shankar and both decide to drop acid. Very cool sounding track. I like the vibe this tune gives off. I could see this being played in the clubs and going over quite well. Pretty impressive Porty.

Very Cool! :thumb: I love your voice! :yourock:
Just like Mozart, he did not always liked the instruments that he wrote the parts for, but he did it with panace and a certain coolness all the same, same here, this was way cool Von Portis:rock: :yourock:

you're crazy... this is AWESOME!!! Has a new wave sense to it aside from the mid eastern thing, industrial percussion... Great mix of styles joining together, amazing delivery all wrapped up in one.

Belly Dancer? Did you say Belly Dancer?
I just auditioned for a show - and there was a Belly Dancer there - what a BABE! Man could she move! I'm gonna ask her out at the next show in August!
Ports, I wish you would do MORE of this type of music. More of the Dark type heavy stuff.
I think this song is pretty cool man. I LOVE all that metal clanking around.
The Sitar is kick ass!
I LOVE to solo to this type of key change, the half step Minor stuff!

I love the industrial feeling here, lots of cool synth sounds too. I especially like the drop thing in the intro.
But I think it could have been kept a lot simpler, less finesse and more power :D
But the effects on the vocals are cool.
I think this is freakin sexay ass hell!!!..Kinda has a inxs and NIN vibe:rock:

Is it me .. or can I see Bon Jovi doing this??!!
Sounds good to me Lawrence .. can't see why you don't like it..
If you REALLY don't like it, then make sure you're legally recognized as the writer and recording artist and SELL it - make some dosh on it!! :thumb: (maybe send an email to J-B-J ... hehe)
What kind of nonsense was that!!!! That was utter SHIT!!!!!.....now that i've said what you think, i'll tell ya my opinion....Your a GENIUS!!!!!! To be able to do this, not really caring for the style, but to make something really listenable and with so many mixtures of sounds and atmospheres, is just BRILLIANT!!! You are a true musician Lawrence...in every sense!!!! FANTASTIC!!! ( and i really don't care that much for this style either!!!):thumb:

Fantastic stuff GP, I love this kind of eastern influenced music and it blends in really well with the vox which as you say has a darker sound to it. The whole thing sounds awesome, great guitar playing as well. Love the Sitar sound too, if that's the variax, it sounds great mate.
Top stuff and defo 5 stars............:thumb:
