i took my laptop to our gig last saturday and plugged it into the board. i used mixcraft 3 to record and here is one of the songs. we played outside at a private party and that is why the effects are pretty heavy on the vocals to make up for the loss of ambience. my laptop only has a mic input so the level was a bit too hot coming from the board. my band is just three guys and we all sing. i run the sound from stage using an alesis mixing board. this didn't turn out too bad for a live recording and an idiot at the controlls. yes thats me singing and guitaring and just remember that i'm old. lol. rick springfield's jessies girl

You did one hell of a job Mr 7!!! Excellent live mix!! Blows some CD's away I have heard. Special kudos for a 3 piece setup. I was in one myself in the early 80's. Dude you guys rocked!! I may need to ask questions on how you did it.
Supreme 5 star job!!! Kudos to your bandmates as well.

thanks guys . i feel its a pretty good mix coming from the board. i sent the left channel to the main p.a. and the right channel to the laptop. i ran sound for a while for bands when i needed money because it paid more than playing guitar and got pretty good at live mixing. i have a lot more songs and just wanted to give you an example of my band. I'm going to record some more gigs in the future and will experiment with better ways to do it but i was pretty happy with my first attempt. thanks again for listening

Great stuff mate, i only half know the track, but really enjoyed hearing you and your band playing live, and the quality is very good, i got quite a few cds that could be put to shame by this, and you all did a brilliant job on the song too.
5 Stars, and record plenty more :thumb:

I would definitely come see your band, Kenny, if I lived in your town. This is a fun tune from my youth. Mix sounded good to me. That's a trip that you do it yourself on stage! . Drums were fat and thumping and I really enjoyed the vocal harmonies going on. I would be interested to hear more stuff like this. :thumb:

very cool indeed. I love the drum sound, is that a roland kit? Cool harmonies and the pace belies your age - this sounded like a bunch of teenagers rocking out. Very impressed!!

EXCELLENT cover Kenny!

Loved it.

"Rick Springfield" meets "The Ramones"

Nah - just jesting. Put a fresh new feel too it. Always like it when a band puts their own interpretation to a song.

5 'o' them things up there from me
