Hey everyone , i thought it would be cool to see how many of us watch the same shows or if theres any new decent ones that are worth watching:thumb:
I used to watch alot of them like Frasier , Friends etc but since they have finished ive been like watching some new shows that have popped up.
House :
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u300/liltom24/house.jpg
Ive always been a fan of Hugh Lauries right from the Blackadder days, i also enjoyed his works with Stephen Fry ,with Jeeves and Wooster , and there own show .
I was quite suprised when Hugh turned up in this kinda comedy/medical drama as a american new jersey consultant , i gotta say i was hooked from the start, Hugh plays his part brilliantly, for anyone who hasn't watched it i would check this out, its a great show:D
Shark :
http://img452.imageshack.us/img452/940/sharknk6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This is a new drama thats started up over here (you guys in the US have probably had it for awhile), its about a defence lawyer that switchs sides to the DA's office and becomes a prosecuter instead .
I also like James Woods, fantastic actor and he plays a high ego pumped lawyer that is basically a work aholic, his daughter is living with him in LA (she was with her mother, they divorced) , so with having to deal with changing sides job wise he also has new responsabilitys at home.
This definetly worth checking out, were still only on season one here in the uk, but i think its excellent .
Greys Anatomy :
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n274/keli3798/ththgreysanatomylogo.jpg
Another new show out here , we just finished season 2 here, its kinda like another drama/black comedy , its hard to pin it down, it has some dark humour but is also serious at times.
Its about a intern who starts work at a hospital alongside her fellow interns, as they struggle to come to terms training as doctors and surgeons.
She falls for one of the chief surgeons as he does for her, but as normal theres so much more to it that its never that simple.
This is a excellent show, very witty at times and interesting aswell, its kinda like a mix between ER and Scrubs lol:woot:
Do any of you watch these or is there any new shows that are good that are worth checking out?

I have very different taste in TV than alot of folks I suppose. I can't stand to watch Doctor/Lawyer/Cop dramas. They're all the same and mostly un-realistic. I hate Game shows or any reality show about Nanny's, Singing, Dancing, Survival, or Home renovation. I do like American Inventor.
I like to watch shows relating to cars/motorcycle builds like American Hotrod, American Chopper, Hard Shine, Overhaulin', etc.
I watch 'Discovery Channel' alot and 'Sports' channels, 'Drag Racing' shows. I do like real investigative shows like '20/20', 'Dateline NBC', 'Primetime Live' or Murder/Crime investigation documentaries.
For comedy I like 'According to Jim', or 'Two and a half Men'.
I also like 'Sopranos', 'Mob' movies like Goodfellas, Casino, Godfather, etc. Football related shows or movies like Friday Night Lights, Remember the Titans, etc.

I don't watch much TV,but I do like Big Brother, Gene Simmons Family Jewels & Dog The Bounty Hunter. My little guy controlls the TV all day long so I'm stuck watching Sesame Street and other kiddie shows.:tard:

Wonderpets, Balamory, and In The Night Garden. My toddler rules the remote.
However, just got Sky+ installed, so I record Star Trek in the evenings and watch them when I get a chance. But usually it is The Simpsons or Futurama that I watch if Star Trek isn't on.
:thumb:
Or the Freeview porn channels if it's a little later than usual.

I like Dog the Bounty Hunter too...but I wish he'd cut off the mullet. He'd look more professional with short hair. Beth's boobs are way too huge. and I like boobs. Gene Simmons is good sometimes but I get tired of his arrogance. If I was a teenager again, I'd stalk his daughter. Damn she's gorgeous.:D
Family Guy has become my favorite show, can't get enough of it.I agree. I could watch that show all day long and it wouldn't get old. My wife likes it now too, after a bit of resistance to watch it, because she didn't like that there was a talking baby and talking dog. But once she got past that, she loves it too. Given the choice, I would watch this over The Simpson any day.

The one show which im really keen on at the moment is 'Hyperdrive ', its actually on tonight at 9.30  , bit like Red Dwarf , but slightly better written .
Others i like include the excellent Channel four 'Peep Show' , also "Mock of the week" , and the gem that is 'Have i got news for you ', all uk shows mind .
oh and i just remembered , 'The Avengers ' , classic killer sixties spoof espionage series .

shark is possibly the best thing I have seen since the sopranos. Woods is brilliant in it. Its a rare honour to witness an actor of his calibre accept a restricting role in a series and still define it. Much as I like house - the father daughter relationship alone shows more depth than House has mustered in 3 seasons. James Woods is a bloody master at his game.

Dont watch much TV apart from kids stuff. Followed Heroes all the way, which is rare as I work shifts so generally miss episodes and lose interest. Lost was pretty cool. Any Fantasy / SciFi films I have generally seen years before they come on Sky...South Park if I notice it. Thats about it really.

I really recommend the tv show/drama 24,
it contains an intense plot, lots of surprises, and great characters
if you get an opportunity watch the series in order,
I'm already up to season 4 when I do get time to watch them, (didn't get much time to watch it last season so not sure about that season)
but so far all seasons I have watched have been VERY entertaining
and this fall a new season of 24 will start !!! :woot:
for comedy I recommend: Seinfeld, &/or Everybody loves Raymond

I used to watch that one. I would sit there all evening long watching CSI, Star Trek, and the various Law and Order shows. I always thought it was cool how CSI had the perfect method of filler development: just spend 10 minutes having the characters looking at clues and thinking if the plot wasn't enough to fill an hour :p
That's why I killed the TV. Yeah, they were good, but not so good as to warrant the amount of time spent watching them that could be spent on other things. I don't like to harp on the, "I don't watch TV, ain't I cool," thing but it really is a life stealer...and it's amazing how much time we waste on it.
And for $50 LESS a month I get more out of my life. It's a double win. I'm actually thinking of cutting off the Internet also but occasionally I actually use it for legitimate things instead of just wasting away in chat rooms :p
The one show I actually find I can't live without though is Heros. My dad records those for me and I just go to his house and watch them when there's like 2-3 to watch.

So you are a season behind I take it? I am going to totally tell you everything that happened. ;)
Delco sleeps with all the hot chicks in the lab again (I am sure they are all model hot in real labs)
Wolf watches Delco do all the chicks with envy
Heratio marries a woman with one leg who has aids, severe ticks and a twitchy eye lid. She dies off in the middle of the episode and you can see a tear creep out from under his sunglasses
Calleigh (had to look up the spelling of that one) enjoys Wolf watching her and Delco doing it
Oh and I think they solve a case or two

In their defense, they are not the biggest country in the world, in fact just roughly the size of Oregon although they do have a large population. Keeping up with a monster of entertainment designed for us lazy ass USA coutch potato bastards is not an easy task. :toothless:

About the only "Home brewed" TV that has caught my attention recently was Life on mars. Very few shows that I will make an effort to keep up with, and they do seem to be American as a rule.

Actually I must concede that you guys have come up with some good shows yourself. Red Dwarf is great. Black Adder...
And I also have to give kudos for the Red Green show to the Canadians...

My brother-in-law was an Ice Road Trucker. He didn't go this year cause he bought his own truck and now works here. The network contacted him to do the show cause he was the #2 driver there last year. They make damn good money but it's dangerous work! What forum is that? I'm sure he'd like to check it out.

I love Ice road truckers! It's my new favorite show! :thumb:
I have always heard of people going up North to drive on the ice roads but this really shows you how dangerous it is! The sound of the ice cracking all of the time and the freezing tempatures freakes me out! My brother-in-law drove on the ice roads for two years and I have so much more respect for him now!
