"Excalibur" was good, but you probably saw it already. There was a Fantasy film I liked when I was a kid..not Medieval..but has some good entertainment value especially if you like 80's Rock. It was called "Heavy Metal" :thumb:

This is easily one of my favorite genres.
I'll definitely check out "Pathfinder". Thanks for the tip!
Usually though it's hard to find any real quality movies of the medieval type. Until LOTR, and the "Harry Potter" series came along, it seemed unless they were G rated like Edward Scissorhands, or Princess Bride, fantasy type were mostly B-grade, with beginning actors and actresses. There's a few that stand out though.
"Beast Master" was cool, a little cheezy, and thin plotted, but enjoyable.
"Legend" was great, and it was before Tom Cruise became a total dick.
"Labrynth" is a classic. David Bowie was cool and creepy at the same time. LOL Like that's unusual.
I was a little disappointed with the "Conan" series. But hey... what was I expecting? Sandahl Bergman looked great though :P And Gerry Lopez stole the show in the second one. Still worth watching them.
"Barbarians" was just funny. Wasn't even trying to be either.
One of my top 5 fantasy flicks though was "Erik The Viking". Great plot, classic Monty Python humor, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Look forward to some more recommendations.

Heavy Metal II was also good. It took that warrior space chick from one of the sections of the first one and turned it into a complete movie.
One that is out right now that was pretty decent was Stardust. Starts really slow but develops into a pretty suspenseful flick. Some pretty funny sequences too. Seems to me to be kid appropriate. If you're really seriously homophobic though you might object to some of it.

If you like your medieval served with a touch of comedy...I think you'll like "Time Bandits" by Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python fame). It has a lot of midgets in it and John Cleese. So can't say fairer than that.
Also of course Monty Python's Holy Grail...too many funny lines in that to mention.
Then there's the ones that are so awful that they are good, Beastmaster was already mentioned, about a guy with two ferrets.
But my fave is Hawk the Slayer.

Jack Palance was in it and playing a character named Voltan. And yes he was the bad guy. And Britain's own carry-on, Bernard "Oh Nooo" Breslaw. My favourite part was the elf who could fire arrows faster than Legolas ever could, machine gun style.

I was going to say Ladyhawk, Labyrinth and Beastmaster. I can't really think of any others in this genre off the top of me head.

The Dark Crystal mayalso be another you might put into this category. Kinda like medieval fantasy with muppets, if you like.
