Ok guys got this idea from another site. I am going to post the backer then we each record a complete spot over it and post our results here. We can all listen to the various approaches and it is a fun thing to do.

If you wanna participate then just download this backer and upload your end result in this thread. If you want to stay immune (to other peoples takes) then simply just download record and upload your take, then comment on other's recordings afterwards (don't listen to their takes until you post yours).

Here is the Backer.

Here is my take over it. I recorded it and went for a walk and thought now where have I heard the intro lick I played.....took me an hour to work out the song it was from....I had no idea at time of recording I was playing that Lick, can anyone tell me the song it is from for a free Gift from the vPlaza...:p

Anyway here is my take

cheers :D

Really nice work Naif + I swear I did not listen to your take but if you play yours then mine you will see that our approaches are very similar in the motifs etc.....Interesting that, the Wah tone here is to die for and loved the licks you pulled off, stunning.

I will download all takes to keep,

& I think you will all agree that this backer is awesome:toothless:

Go for it Steve:rock: .

The idea of this is not for it to turn into a huge Competition I just love hearing the different styles and phrasing of all our fellow Guitarblasters. These jams are open to everyone.

The other advantage to jams like this is that you may identify players that would be good to collab with. That is where I get the most inspiration by jamming or collabin with others.

In fact Steve we should do a collab soon:toothless:

Ok, you asked for it :notme:
Complete with handling noise, hardly moving out of first position (tried to get clever, but failed drastically, so decided basic is best ) and pretty repetitive, but this is where I'm at I guess, doing stuff like this makes me try that bit harder, which is good as I am VERY lazy......

Would love to colab with you Mac, just have to find something I can keep up on :) Maybe I can do a track and send to you for the solo,s or something?

Hmmm, maybe the solo from Manic Depression?
Now tell me if you can identify the lick I played at 1:21, that I stole from another song. A bit too easy probably ;)
Kickass jamming by the way!

And steve, nice jamming to. Basic is best... nice twist on the old "less is more" :)
Some great bluesy stuff. Reminded me of old clapton... from when he played an SG I guess.

Dallas: So you did several takes? That's cheating, you know! ;)
Love that intro thingy ya did! Great playing too, seriously rocking stuff! :woot:

Thanks Mark, glad you liked what i did with it, i just wanted to try a few ideas out really, and the backer suited what i had in mind quite nicely :)

Naif, excellent version mate, the wah gives it a nice Voodoo Child kinda feel to it and some lovely playing, great work :)

Mark, also a lovely version, got abit of the Satch and Vai going on in here and it sounds excellent, the tone aswell, reminds me of the Satch JSX in places, top job :thumb:

Steve, love the classic tone, i agree with Mark, very Marshall'y, and some great playing too, it flowed very well and some great little riffs in there, a very enjoyable listen :yourock:

Dallas, gotta love the Wah, my favourite effect, and it works excellently, especially when u turn on abit of the Satch, great tone and playing, really enjoyed it :)

Kenny, sounds brilliant mate, its great to hear so many different takes on the track, love the tone, sounds like you have the P-Pod working great already, and the playing just excellent

Bulletman, loved what you did with this, abit VH in tone and sound, and some very interesting playing too, it all worked wonderfully, cracking work :thumb:

Top marks to you all guys, really enjoyed listening to you all :yourock: :yourock:
