Hey everyone, its that time of the month for our monthly themed jam:)
This month ive gone with something very diffrent, lastime we did a blues jam (redhouse) , this time ive built a bt myself from scratch , its basically a original i called Tears Of A Angel which i was thinking about but got side tracked from, although i might build it into something further in the future but for now ive built it into more of a jam bt .
Now before you listen and take your slots etc, i do warn you the song isn't like most jam bts where each slot is the same as everyone elses, every slot keeps changing key :woot:
Its a similar structure but i think it adds a diffrent character to the not only the bt but to the jam itself, it changes the way it sounds , so i do warn you about this and that it might be complicated to play for some of you.
This wasn't done delibretley its just thats the point of these monthly jams, diffrent styles diffrent months, next month i will resume probably a rock/blues theme probably , so it all evens out:)
I must admit im very proud of this bt , i might of over done it for our jam but what the hell , only the best for us eh :D
Right theres 6 slots , i will take slot one to get the interest up on this, the details are below ,

Slot 1 : 0:33 - 1:37 : Bahamut
Slot 2: 1:46 - 2:50 : Axe2grind
Slot 3: 2:58 - 4:02 : Avalon
Slot 4: 4:10 - 5:14: Bahamut
Slot 5: 5:22 - 6:26: GT777
Slot 6: 6:34 - 7:38: Steve (reserve)

Hope you enjoy it, let me know which slot you want :)

Lol i get the distinct feeling im gonna have all the time in the world to fiddle with this for a original:lol:
Well i will give it today, if knowone is interested in this i will build a quick standard blues track instead.

Dont give in yet mate, its been real quiet here. This is waay outside my comfort zone, but I will give it a shot if you need a fifth sucker ... errr ... volunteer. Dont slot me straight in tho,I dont want to dive on every one of these and Im not sure if I an do it anyway, minor pents gonna work on this :dunno:

Okay lads cheers, great to see my usual jam partners up for this:yourock:
I must admit its very diffrent , i was working on this for a original so it is kinda out there lol but well you never learn anything by playing in the same old comfort zone:)
Will be very interesting to see how this works:thumb: :thumb:
Ive put you down on the last slot as a reserve Steve :)

Big props to Justin and Steve for stepping up, it sounds a very tricky song, like it alot though Mart, i guess you've been taking all this BT stuff onboard :)

Now lets see a few more ppl step up and join in the jam, I know there are more then just 6 or 7 ppl who can play guitar on this site, so lets see some of u ;)

I like this one a lot. I would like others to jump onboard with this one. So if there are still free slots by Monday I will join in then.

As I say be nice to see some others do this one:wavey: :toothless:

Hey Mart,

Just sent my take to you. Must admit I found this a bugger to play over as the key changes all the time LOL so it is quite a laid back affair, not fast shredding, don't think this is a shred tune especially with a nice title like that.

Cheers mate.:thumb:

Cheers Justin, just taken a listen and it sounds excellent m8, yeah i must admit thinking on it i should of did some diffrent parts throughout instead of having it changing key all the time, it is the main theme to my original i should of maybe made it abit more freeform, but thats the beauty of these jams, even if your not sure its great to try out some diffrent stuff, tells you the real story when all the so called big boys are scared of peeking out over there skirts to attempt this, all you guys who have put your names forward are to me imo the real guitarists on here :yourock: :toothless:

Glad you got it ok. I agree, things like this get you thinking about what to play rather than knocking out the usual patterns and stuff. My fretboard awareness is still very much beginner level so have to rely on the old ears. I really do need to sort myself out in that area LOL. Cheers dude, look forward to the end result. :)

Pop me down for slot 3, haven't a clue what im going to do on it, but i'll take my best shot.
Must agree too Mart, its shame to see so few ppl willing to have a go other then a small core group of members too :headscratch:

Im panicking. Thought I could remember the changes and come up with a simple theme that I could then elaborate, but it changes so much I cant remember it  Will keep trying, and hoping that enough ppl sign up so I can stay on the bench!! It is making me think beyond patterns tho.

come on bro! Give it a try! Dont wait for 10 pm! This is not a guitar contest. The only one you need to challenge is yourself ;)

This kind of jams only leaded me to a better realm on the guitar universe:thumb:

Uppss, and btw, do we have a limit date to send you our takes?

Bahamut

Just spotted this an hour or two ago. I really dig this backing alot and am looking forward to hearing what you guys lay down on it. Would have jumped on it but I feel swamped by some of the other stuff that still isn't close to finished, not to mention continuous drawn out packing of all sorts of crap as the house moving looms nearer lol.

I you hold on to this backing to do a 2nd jam with it at some point in the future then please let me know when. By then I might have figured out how to play over all those fucking changes

You crazy baystid Mart.

Well i might try a similar kinda jam in the near future Danny, not for the main theme but a normal one , just to see what can be done on it :D
Ive just finished my parts although not sure about it, im kinda chopping and changing from my Blackmore to my Satch kinda styles on this, im not sure i like it but i will think on it :woot:
