Awwww man, how the hell am I supposed to choose? GT, a squire? Proves its more in the fingers than the gear! But Im going for Dance if only for that perfectly controlled vibrato. Great take both, I could not come close to either of you so fell like some kind of fraud voting

dont normally vote in these battle things but as i love this track.......:notme:

wish i had the chops to play this :thumb: anyways..
2 great covers chaps...loved both tones and playing..could almost spin a coin but my vote goes to GT, because as a cover battle, his version was nearer to the original [especially the parts around 3.20].

see gt used a podxt, what did you use DWG?

maybe you could post the patches here ?

I used a rp 200a at the time and a compressor lined into it with expression pedal. Also my Ibanez RG Custom. Thanks for the question.

Well, if it was all on the tone then Dances walks it. Bu I ave to go for GT... to cover any Vai tune at all on a 21 fretter is a bloody awkward job indeed, but FTLOG ?... just crazy. Both rox0rz lol.

Would be nice to see people cover a more obscure Vai tune though, everyone always does the same few tunes :(. How about more people start covering the entire Fie Garden Suite

wow guys. I was really blown away by both versions. Great tone and playing. Its really motivating to here people cover this so well - makes me almost believe Vai is human - lol. Awesome job.

Hi Guys,

Very nice battle you got going here. Nice classic Vai track to use as well. I really liked both takes, both had a LOT of effort, swear & tears into the playing, tuff cover to do too. Well, after weighing up both versions, my vote went to GT777 cause I thought the tone was spot on and had a little more Vai'ness to his playing. But overall, you both are excellent players and was enjoyable listening to both. :thumb:
