What is your favorite Martial Art Movie?..Who is your favorite Martial Artist?

I have always been a big fan of Bruce Lee..He was just an amazing actor, martial artist, and person..I have seen every film he has ever made,lol..I love all of them too..But i would choose the very last one he was in,Enter The Dragon as my favorite all time Martial Arts Film..Since he has passed on,he left a path open for so many more Martial artist who he inspired to become the greatest they can be..I do enjoy alot of Martial Art films .

I also like Jet Li,Jackie Chan,Chow Yun Fat,and Michelle Yeoh...

I recommend these movies if you are a Martial Arts Fan...

Curse Of the Golden Flower

Fearless

House Of The Flying Daggers

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Five Deadly Venoms

Hero

Enter The Dragon is the one and only for me for pure Martial Arts with a gripping story and characters. Bruce Lee is the be all and end all of the serious side of the genre I'd say.

For more slapstick martial arts it HAS to be Jackie Chan, he seems to gel excellently with every single person he works with and I just imagine him to be a really really nice bloke. Shanghai Nights, Rush Hour 1 and 2, Who Am I etc etc... Chan kicks ass and is super likeable.

Jet Li is a bit too reliant on wires for my tastes, but proof he doesn't really need them comes in the fantastic form of Romeo Must Die, which is one of my favourie Martial Arts movies. His earlier stuff is hilariously bad, but enjoyable because of that. The dubbing and the gags are just ludicrously amusing.

But the bottom line for me is Bruce Lee + Enter The Dragon = Top Martial Arts Material. His other movies before it were good too, just not great. Big Boss etc etc.

Honorable mention to Brandon Lee, he did a few Martial Arts movies and though nothing special are still good fun. He was super good, shame he had to live in his fathers shadow. Also a shame that he too failed to live to see himself become the superstar he so richly deserved to be. Just like his father had died previously before the release of Enter The Dragon. Brandon died during the filming of The Crow, one of my favourite films infact. Im so pleased for him that he was so brilliant in it though, and that it became such a huge cult hit and is now regarded as such a great movie. He deserved at least one movie like that I think.

Well King Boxer (5 Fingers Of Death ) started it all off but i never enjoyed it , however Fists of fury with Bruce Lee was a whole new ball game . Here was a guy who looked cool , and was athletic nimble fast and deadly . so for me it has to be ,

Fist of fury
Enter the dragon
The game of death
The big boss . to be honest i only ever enjoyed Kung-fu that featured Bruce . All other Kung fu movies appeared to mimic Bruce's style , much like the below par spaghetti movies mimicking Eastwood's " The man with no name " character.

Kung Pow.

The best martial arts film ever. Of course it's absurdly stupid, and slapstick, with the occasional fart joke, but aside from that, it's fargin' HILARIOUS.

Plus, it's where I got my screen name:D

Master Tang was no real master, he was the old guy that repeatedly got his ass kicked by the bad guy before the hero came along.

Dunno if it qualifies as martial arts per se, but I really enjoyed the scenes that didn't have Tom Cruise in them in "The Last Samurai".

If it had been someone like Hugh Jackman in the lead role instead of Tom "THE HEAD" Cruise, it would probably be my favorite eastern themed movie ever.

I asked my Dad to record that for me when it came on TV a while ago. He did, he then watched it and decided it was crap before proceeding to delete it. I never did get to watch it...

Danny, it's worth watching. Absolutely. I just did my best to ignore Tom as being Tom. Chase it down. You won't be disappointed.

Tom always seems to be acting for an Oscar rather than acting for the role. He'd probably get an Oscar everytime if he acted for the role lol, such is his undeniable talent for his work. But alas he is a grinning machine prone to overacting and with little to no class.

I think that Norris flick was The Octagon. I used to have it on betamax back in the day.
