Hi everyone , heres Septembers monthly themed jam
I decided for this month we would try out a ambitious original , i had written this track abit back and was playing about with how i could build on it, sadly with the lack of time ive had lately i couldn't add anymore to this .
So i thought i would use what i already had to make it into a jam track, now i must admit it has some interesting changes and through the course of everyone trying this out ,pretty much everyone seemed to have problems with the progression but well the ppl who stepped forward i think did fantastic work on this , its not often you take great satisfaction in having other ppl playing over your own work but i thought everyone brought there own bit of magic to the table :)
Anyway i built the bt from scratch , did all the mixing but big thank you to the following guys for trying this out , cheers fellas
Bahamut : 0:28 - 1:35
Axe2grind : 1:40 - 2:44
Avalon : 2:52 - 3:59
Bahamut: 4:04 - 5:11
GT777 : 5:16 - 6:19
SteveG : 6:29 - End

This was a tough one to play over, but you never learn new thing by sitting in your comfort zone. This one made me think of what to play more, and just when you least expect, this lil' f'ker changed key LOL. Great fun and thanks Mart for sharing one of your compositions to jam over. Guys you all did a great job on this, loved the harmony stuff that Mart did and Jamie you really rocked out and had the confidence to do faster runs, GT777, some lovely melodys (which actually sound familiar!) and Steve, like me, you kept things nice and simply which worked out well. Nice tone all as Mark said. Great work guys....:thumb:

Nice to hear you lot shifting gear on all the different keys.
Steve, you reminded me of 'Buck' Dharma at the end of the Hear 'n' Aid "We're Stars" song! Sounded good mate :thumb:

Well, i really like to hear how other people are playing and what do they have on their heads at the moment they play. I mean their influences....
My part was ...i dont know... i supose the melody reminded me something Yngwie would play (i bet Danny would be a perfect guy for this jam) but im no neoclassical geek and i tried to sound as melodic as i could. I think what i played was something like that axe2grind ;) . At the end i finish my part screwing it with that nonesense guitar playing cause i make you guys wait for me for so long and i didnt know what to play anymore.
I really liked all of your takes guys. It was so fun to think how to fit the main melody in a proper way.
Good job team :thumb:

This was so beautifully done....the guitar phrasing and melodies were all individual but meshed to create a great collaboration! I really enjoyed listening to each one of you and your creative interpretations. Loved all the different tones and styles! Thanks for sharing it!

Well a big congrats first of all to everyone who took part, you all did fantastic on what is a very tricky track indeed, and great to hear so many different takes on here, for me this is what being part of a community is all about, getting your hands dirty, and also a very big thank you to those that have taken the time to listen, thats the other big part of the community :)
Finally, excellent work on the song, mix and bt Mart for which this wouldn't of been possibile :thumb:

it is too bad that these jams don't get as many listens as they deserve. this is a real treat to listen to as you get to hear so many interpitations of what can be played to a backer like this. when i heard the backer i felt there is no way i could play anything that would fit. i liked what each one of you did to it. there was some really nice playing and melodies going on. nice job guys

First off, an amazing job by Bahamut on this tune, a really creative one to put up for a jam too, reminds me a lot of early MacAlpine in it’s thematic modulating quality and I think everyone really picked up on the melodic aspect as these leads are all loaded with melody. A pleasure to listen to! :thumb:

Interesting to listen to this after being away for a week, I heard the "sample" Mart sent out before I went away and cringed, listening now I don't sound quite as bad as I feared  It was a bitch to play over tho, took me about 5 hours to record a minute of guitar, but well worth the effort as it made me think beyond my usual playing, which has to be a good thing, so I'm glad I went for it, cheers Mart for putting it together, and congrats all for a fine job on a difficult task :thumb:
