Hi. Lately I've been having some problems with mozilla firefox version 2.0.0.7, wich is the latest version as far as I know. After I've been running it for only a short while it starts using a helluva lot of memory, and it crashes.
I've downgraded to an older version (1.5.0.1) and it's working just fine.
Anyone else experienced anything like this? :headscratch:

I'm having the same problem. I haven't checked into it yet but it looks like the same issue they had with v1.7(I think) when the memory usage would double every time you minimized and restored the window:dunno:

Damn, haven't noticed this myself yet, but will look into it.

Memory usage/leakage has been a major issue for FireFox users for quite a while now. Honestly, I'm getting tired of it. I may try Opera for a while and see how that goes.

It's good to hear that it's not just me having the same problem. Also it's sad to hear that you too are having problems, of course :p
But then there should come a new version with this issue fixed soon, maybe?

I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.7 with no probs at all (yet). I 've had no probs with any previous version of Firefox. Wotever you do, don't go back To Billy and The Microsofties Internet Explorer.

I haven't had that problem thankfully. I love the browser myself.
Are you guys using any plug in's with it?
I have it bone stock except for the "Outlook Blue" theme.

Yeah I use FasterFox, NoScript IE Tab, and Adblock plus Though I'm thinking of getting shot of Adblock because I find it's not really needed.

Yeah, the plugins are the reason I don't want to switch to Opera. I use DownloadHelper, AllPeers and IE Tab. I'll disable those and see if it makes a difference.

I started using Firefox right after recovering an XP installment when I changed of MOBO, as for some reason IE would not play any online videos any more, it kept asking me to install Flashwave again and again, when I already had it. Still has the same prob. Anyways, ever since I installed Firefox, everything has gone nice again, of course I have no plug ins, so that maybe the issue. I also upgraded to 2.0.0.7 in fact last week or so. The only problem I have encountered (up till date) is when I try to wait and watch online someones videos uploaded here (in fact it just happened a while ago trying to watch wah´s one). For some reason Firefox hangs up, then have to open IE to download the video and watch it.
Some friends of mine tell me that Opera runs real slick, I might try that one too one of these days.
