solitude

This song was originally inspired by the spirit of radio in toronto, alive and well (so far).Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson.
According to our recent cover of 'Red Barchette',SteveG requested for this song and Gabriel gave him his words,so I decided to help him keep his words:D .I made the bt ,taking care of the vox & mixing.Gabriel taking care of the guitar works. Many thanks to Jeff(KCAR)for helping us with the valuable preview & useful comments,IMO he is the 1000% biggest RUSH fan & RUSH specialist around here, thx very much bro.
We really hope u enjoy,my friends!!3819

Nice work on this dudes! Rush's best era imo - really enjoyed hearing you guys cover this!
If there is one standout thing here for me it's the opening flanged riff, I've never heard anyone nail that tone so precisely as Alex's, down to the flange oscillation, identical to the original, this could have come right off the cd, curious how this was recorded.
Amazing stuff!

Still very good though . Great singing and playing . Incidentally i did something very similar on the cozy powell tune i did , Theme one . I tried for ages to do the Cozy Powell drum intro and couldn't get it sounding good enough so i morphed the original intro over my midi intro . Come to think of it ive done this quite a few times :headscratch: .
But well done guys , great performance all round :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

U r wrong mate:toothless: Dont u remember ur works?Its a post processing adjusted again & again & again with GTrig!!lol
Just CCCoooLLLL!!!
Good cover but IMHO i think the gt was buried in the mix.How u guys think it sounded like the real??:headscratch: I compare with the real song its not so close though it sounded alike.BTW ,Its just coool, gays ooop sorry guys:toothless:
Def'ly a classic tune!! Really like the live feel to the performance (after the intro). The drums especially have a very natural sound to them. The rhythm tone throughout is pretty close to the original, so kudos on that. Not many people can sing like Geddy, so my hat's off to Sol for making it sound effortless.

Its the original at the beginning. I have a few pms about this. So I them both sync'ed up in cubase and they are identical timing wise and sound wise. All peaks are present and correct and there is even the faded in chord in the background on both at exactly the same place. In other words - it is a sample.

Many thanks to Jeff(KCAR)for helping us with the valuable preview & useful comments,IMO he is the 1000% biggest RUSH fan & RUSH specialist around here, thx very much bro.Well, that was certainly a flattering credit there, Solitude, but all I did was listen to this masterpiece and tell you how good I thought it was, and then sat back and got jealous that I wasn't the one who it played this well!!! ;)
Truth is, I really couldn't come up with anything constructive to say, as it was all good! GT777 is really leading up the pack with his Rush guitarwork. I am envious of his skills and try to use that as inspiration for my own efforts to do RUSH tunes. It's just good to know that we have a great Geddy Lee vocalist on the site to make guys like us' dreams come true with doing Rush covers! :thumb:
Great work guys. As soon as I figure out what happened to the Nom button, I shall give you one. :D

I need that nominate button back NOW!!!!! Bloody hell guys, that was good. Backer was just about perfect, I gotta learn to make 'em! (Keep trying, but getting nowhere fast). Sol, I love the way you sang this one, well among your best imo. GT, great guitar work, makes my fumbling version sound very sad  Thanks for doing my favorite Rush tune guys, I really enjoyed listening .... and it is definitely destined for the MP3 player!!

Great job yis mofo's!:thumb:
This sounds really good overall but Sol man,i heard some1 say recently that you should try mix ur vox better and i have to agree man. You've such a great voice but you could sound EVEN BETTER if ya focused a bit more on that area of things. Ur vox still rock here as always of course but i'd love to hear them kick ass even more!:thumb:

Brilliant 5 stars and NOM.
An excellent alround cover. Brought back memories from days gone by.
I remember rushing home from work in 1980 to see this on Top of the Pops, only to see Legs and Co dancing to it.
