Is anyone else having problems with the GB chat room log in? I haven't been able to log in to the GB chat room for about 2 weeks. It's like the login, after you click on chat has been disabled. Please try to resolve it or help me to resolve the problem. Thanks!

I just tried it and it loaded right up for me and the main site here is showing that I am in and it appears that the audio and video are working as well. Are you able to use Flash on other sites Mare?

Yes, I am able to use Flash on all other sites and I could use it here before. It has just been the past two weeks on GB that it won't work for me.:dunno:

Some details would be helpful in solving your problem. What operating system and browser are you using? Did you make any changes recently that may have caused it?:dunno:

Thanks Pod God for the response. I don't think it is my system, I think it is a glitch in the chat room. I belong to another guitar forum that has the exact same chat software and I have no problems at all loggin in. When I click on GB chat, it loads and brings me to screen with Red face on background and has a login button, but the button is dead and doesnt allow me to click on it.

OK. I am in there now. If you can see the background, then I think I have an idea. Can you go back in there and click the empty space under the "video off" button. A white bordered box should apear. Type into that and hit enter as a test. I will stay on the line and see what happens Mare.

I tried 3fingers :( There is no video off button, no white space, can't get past the dead login button.

Do you get the prompt where it asks about permission to access your camera or microphone (Adobe Flash)? If not, can you perhaps disable any pop-up blocking for the moment to test?

No I don't get that , just the red face and a solid black box in the upper lt corner that says english and login and the login is dead. I diabled popup blocler, no difference. But I did notice when I am not signed in I see 1 chatting beside chat but when I am logged on to GB, I don't see that.

Could be a cookie issue then. I would recommend clearing your cookies and cache, rebooting and trying again. I know it's a pain, but if everybody else can get in and you can't, it's a problem on your PC. Since you can get into FlashChat on another site, it's not a software issue... so it's probably cookie/cache related:)

Another thing you can do is download firefox www.firefox.com and try it with that. It's a small download and easy install, I don't even use Internet Explorer anymore at home.

Its a shame the chat room ain't taking off like it should. Its a great facility and fun to use , but nobody ever uses it and i really don't know why :headscratch: .

For the past few sunday GMT mornings , (late sat nights at Cali-west coast time) there has been some amusing stuff, thing is even so I see few people on it, I guess it ain´t the best time, but I have had some good laughs whenever I stuck my nose in.

Thanks Mart for trying to help! Pod God, I ran a cleaner,cleaned my cookies and cache, defragged and rebooted and still no resolution to the problem eric, I downloaded firefox and I get the identical problem with that browser too!

I have been able to access on three computers so far, I wish we had an answer for you.

eric, could it be possible the login is corrupted or somehow I am blocked from it? Because even with downloading a new Firefox browser, I get the same thing....a dead login. What if you put a new chat link somewhere else on the page? I'm just trying to find a solution because I have tried everything on my end and I miss talking to everyone.:( :( :(

Mare brought this to my attention and actualy I can't log into your chat room either:dunno: , but we both can log into 6stringheavens chatroom which is the same software, but a never version (4.7.7) your version is (4.7.5). So if you upgrade to the 4.7.7 everyone should be fine.

For you maybe....There are at least three people on this thread alone who it doesn’t work for. I have given the fix for it in the above post.

You can choose not to take action to fix it, but please don't be condescending and state that it is working fine when it obviously isn't.

I have the same situation as Mare whereby I can also log straight into 6stringheaven's chatroom.

I downloaded the latest version of Flash as well so it is not that.

And like I say, it is the same situation with both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Don´t want to be "condescendent" or "brown noser" here man. But I remember once a few of us were in there and these guys (EGR and PG) were in there trying to fix out some big mess that had the site off for couple days (I think it was due to a huge Black out that happened in Germany that affected other countries´electricity during a winter snow that collapsed many websites, even american ones, go figure) on a sunday afternoon. Just wait a little, I´m sure everything will sort out sooner or later. After all this is for our leisure time and not a "I want it fixed by 8:00AM tomorrow before the meeting" kind of stuff.

I never allow the site to remember me. So I always have to log in whenever I come here.

When I open the site and it loads without being logged in, it always says that there are two people chatting in the chat room.

But once I have logged in, it then says that there is nobody in there.

I have no idea whether this related or not, just passing it on in case it helps narrow down the problem area.
