Hey folks...Hope you all don't get offended by this...but have you ever considered adding a Welcome To Guitar Blast area....you could set it as its own little category or add it as a sub to an exsisting area....basically it would kind of be set up like a more or less introduction area....where the memebers that are new can if they wish post a little info about them...say where they are from if they wish...if they play...what they like to play...etc etc etc....its juts basically a way for people to say Hi...introduce themselves....and kind of a way for you to get to know a little about them...and in turn they get to know something about us( well the rest of you since I am new here )...it also helps in getting people to enjoy a little more of that community feeling and hoepfully encourgae more participation....just a thought....not a command...hope no one minds the suggestion....see ya in the forums...Shuffle

There used to be something like this, but it went away while the site was getting up and running with only a few members who knew each other already.

Maybe it's time to bring it back ?

:dunno:

I think it's a great idea. It worked before but got a bit silly with people called 'greeters' which, I think, made it a bit impersonal...like the Disney Store greeters! BUT, I think an area where you can state who you are and what you like would help those new people navigate towards saying hello.

Hey, that was my creative idea about the greeters! :chucks: ;)

Yeah, it was a bit cheesy but it almost tripled the replies to new people and it gives people a sense of accomplishment on the board to get a cool little tag under their name. In fact that was a last ditch effort I made at G101 that worked, I was about to close that forum down due to lack of replies.
