I am not a technical player by any means but I have always loved this Satriani tune so I wanted to attempt a version of it. I needed to post this as I have felt stuck in a rut lately, there are a few slip ups in here I just left them in as I tried to do all parts in a single take.:maddance:

This is a tribute to a mega talented guitarist, we are not worthy.

Also a big thanks to Avalon as I used his Backing Track, thx mate:bowdown:

Thats the one thing i love about Joe Satriani and Steve Vai is that even though they can shred they also have a art for pulling out soulful and controlled pieces, this song is another of those songs that which has that kind of balance to it, fast in places but very controlled
Well i think this is a fitting tribute Mark , lovely tone and the playing was great , i had to think for a min which one this was cos its been awhile since ive heard it, but nevertheless i knew it straight away when i heard you kick in on this
Quick note though Mark, thats not Av's bt lol , i know his bt works like the back of my hand(i should cos i play to most of them lol) , this one here isn't one his lol (tell by the drums aswell) :toothless:
Anyway 5 stars on fitting tribute to the Satchter

Hey Mark,

Nice to see you covering a Satch Tune. About time bro!. Crush of Love is still very much a fav of mine ever since hearing it first on a little black floppy disk that came free with Guitar Player (way back in the late 80's I think !, which is impossible cause I am only 21! LOL).

Really liked your rendition mate, very nice tone that fits well and some nice playing. I did a version of this and found the real high notes a bugger, shred my fingers to hell, you did a fine job of hitting those. Nice job and as Mart said, a very fitting tribute to the Satch man.:thumb: 5 Stars from me also bud.

Sorry bout the confusion on the backer, Jamie created a ton of the Satch backers so I was convinced I had found this one in amongst the collection Jamie had posted.

thx for listening mate:wavey:

Thx Justin for listening, I was in two minds over posting this.

I did a version of this and found the real high notes a bugger, shred my fingers to hell, you did a fine job of hitting those. - I agree My fingers are pretty beat up also after this. I attempted this a year ago and could not get that high note section of solo right (I still can't but it has improved a lot:brickwall:). Satch is one talented fella and his control and note choice is amazing.

Very veritable attempt Mark. Sounds good to THESE ears ... but then again ... I've imbibed abt one bottle of red wine and a double brandy so far tonight ... so I'm feelin' more than a little 'mellow'?

Way cool melodic playing there man! To tell you the truth, though Iīve been tired of both Satch and Vai ever since the early nineties, if I have to stay with one, thatīd be Satch. Heīs such a melodic junkie! :toothless:
Just one thing Mark, maybe itīs me, I donīt know. I thought the guitar (your track) was just a tad-bit playing ahead of the track. The same exact thing happens to me when I record with the pod, then I have to scope and slide the recorded guitar some "nano seconds" to the right against the backing track Iīm playing to. Not sure if you know what Iīm trying to say, but as I was listening I just found it very "familiar" man. Anyways, 5 vers here man for a cool laid back tune and well played!

Hey Mark, lovely work here mate, im playing alot of Satch myself atm, and i was only listening to this one the other night (from the Live In Cisco dvd), so very fresh in my memory.
Lovely tone and playing, quite a soulful track which you definately carried that over in your playing, and i really enjoyed it too, 5 stars :thumb:
And the bt isn't one of mine, one of the few i didn't make one for, but if u ever come to one of my older satch bts for a song, drop me a line mate, cus most of them are well out of date by my current bt standards :)

yes mate i do have some latency issues, i almost prefer tacking the backer into my Boss Multitrack recorder and plugging pod into that, I do all I can but latency is always there a bit, especially with a track like this that can be annoying as hell:mad:
