Hi everyone, here's alittle blues for you from Purple, called "When A Blind Man Cries".
John and myself did this one last year, but i wasn't that happy with my parts, and the backing track too more recently (i've come along way since the first draft), so we were all set to take another shot at it.
As things have turned out though, i ended up going it alone, John is very busy atm and just before i moved house i was having alittle centimental last sing to a few songs with the record button pressed and this was how it turned out.
So with the exception of a few other tracks i still have floating about, this is most likely the last song i'll sing, which is why i decided to go with this version and not get John to put a far superior vocal on it (and i really appreciate you being up for the song too mate :thumb: ).
Thanks for taking a listen and hope you enjoy my Steve Morse/Deep Purple style take on the song :)

Yeah!. Ya know one thing man, I love how clean your tracks sound, you never overdue it with them ozone-pluggins addons, which I really appreciate listening to. Perfect mix man, and being your track, I´m sure as hell no one can fit a better passionate vox like ya sticked in here man, :yourock:. One helluva job, and here´s 102/34 +2 stellar bright objects for ya.

You know when i listen to your tracks i always listen and think yeah thats my bro playing lol, i always respect your works as you do mine but i actually sat here listening to this one from a guitarist point of view instead(well i tried to lol) , just listening from Sling Shots cover made me think really how far you have come aswell as a musician.
I don't notice so much cos we jam together alot but you have come very far, i think far as your bt making skills go your pretty much in a league of your own, i think Ministry Of Lost Souls proved how a bt made from scratch is supposed to be done and sound, this also being a excellent bt to but also lovely guitarwork aswell , if anyone has listened to Steve Morse play this live then they could apreciate this especially the intro solo :)
I must admit i would of preferred hearing John sing this lmao, but 2/3 isn't bad, can't have your head to big now can we :D
Seriously though excellent job on this Jam, 5 stars
Jamie this was just absolutely beautiful, from your playing to your vox..You can definately hear the passion

this is most likely the last song i'll sing  What!!
Don't you dare!! This had so much feeling to it. The vocals were a huge part of it. You really had an excellent bit of playing and the tones ranged from violin to horn to crunchy and punchy! This was an outstanding mix!! Keep it going fella. An ace job!!
Intro is quite stunning. The volume effect on the solo reminds me of Steve Howe on Gates of Delirium. The backing track is meticulous and spotless. You gave yourself a nice open space for the solo to float over top of. Well done!!

Thanks everyone, i really appreciate the feedback and kind comments :) , on the vocals, im not quiting singing because im not happy with it, more that now i've moved i'll have the neighboughs on my back if they hear someone getting murdered through the walls (thats me trying to sing Child In Time  ) , who knows, i might be able to do abit futher down the line, but for now thats it atleast.
As for the mix and the production, i really appreciate the comments on that too, I always try to avoid heavy eq'ing and effects on tracks, and with this song in particular go for more a live stage balance, as much in the mixing as in the mastering, so its great to get some feedback, as its sometimes hard to know wheather it just sounds good to your ears :)
Thanks again everyone :yourock:
Ahhh....here 'tis!!!! Jamie, why you want me to sing your tunes is beyond me!!! That was friggin' EXCELLENT!!!!! Now, i knew the track was PHENOMINAL, and i was really sorry i couldn't get to it in a timely fashion, but after hearing this mate....well, theres no reason you should have me EVER do your vocals for ya!!! Really a top notch job here bro!! You have a certain "real" quality to your voice, that makes a tune like this shine!!! Fantastic post mate!! 5***** and then some!!!!:yourock:

Jaime,
Absolutely fantastic song mate. As always top playing and singing with quality production work as well. I really admire how you capture a song with such detail, listening to your stuff has on several occassions now, influenced me on how I approach things. Great musicianship bud and very enjoyable to listen too.:thumb: I'm sure in the future you won't be able to help yourself doing another vocal tune. Top marks as always fella.:thumb:
