Hi people,

DANGER!! CHEEZ ALERT!!

Me an' John have been passing this back and forwards for a while now. It's taken it's time in coming, but here ... AT LAST!! ... is our latest collab'

Hope you enjoy listening as much as I did playing it (and bugging John over it!)

Paul Kossoff (God rest 'im) could do no wrong in my eyes. Yeah, sure, he wasn't a technical or show-off flashy player ... but no-one ... and I mean NO-ONE put more soul into their simple pentatonic and blues scale runs - and that's what makes the difference to me ... you could feel his heart and mind coming thru' his fingertips into those extra thick strings he used.

When you've got a LP ... you've GOTTA play some Free. It's in the rule book

Just hope I did it justice. It ain't completely like the original, but I hope it's close enough to the style to pay due tribute to the late, great man (as John did also for Paul Rodgers).

Here ya go ... Blues-Rock for ya on a plate. Wishing Well. Played thru my Vamp and recorded with Cubase.

Thanks again John ... and especially for your patience.

Smokin tune! I don't really know much Free, but I do have a Les Paul. (I think mine might get revoked since I have now read the manual). :)

I would pay to watch you guys do this live. It's really so pro. Fully impressive. Great to hear JPF on vocals. Makes me wonder why he is not selling CD's?
Capt...that was a great tone! Would make a Marshall envious! Very nice chops! You both rock!! :yourock: :yourock:

Netrom, Av, Chris ... cheers mates.

I really enjoyed doing this, cos I used to play it in the cheesy classic-rock covers band I was forced to leave through re-locating to Scotland earlier this year.

Linda, nice to see you dancing round yer handbag with yer shoes off ... but don't forget and leave it behind when it's closing time... I ain't driving all the way back to The Hardwick from Glasgow just to pick it up for you again! :maddance:

Thanks guys!

Awesome combination of talent on display and a rockin' song choice. Been hearing All Right Now quite a bit lately (TV commercial or something), so I've had Free on the brain for a while. If I didn't know John's voice so well, would have thought this was a vintage recording.

Curse my Classic Rock ignorance, never heard much of Free's stuff (except the tune from that well known chewgum commercial). Loved this cover tune guys, stands tall on its on without knowing the original. Classy solid guitar work, same for the vox. Really enjoyed this one.:thumb: top marks.

Oh yeah! I love Free, and you guys kicked ass on this one! Sounds much better sound-wise than the last one ya posted Cap, levels all cool and smashed compressed here, but that´s what this kinda stuff begs for. Ya sure paid an awesome tribute to Kossov man, and JPF, your singing sounds MUCH better to me than Rodgers´, his yoddling has always got on my nerves, but ya deff kicked ass here as well.
BTW Cap, answering to some subtle comment done elsewhere :notme:, I just think multi-quoting messages every few posts and then letting things drain out for letting the rest of people´s fresh uploads be up and listened to ain´t that hard to do,

Thanks Tony ... The last one? ... Oh yeah ... Parisienne ... that was recorded around 9-10 months ago and was my first attempted recording with my Love Rock.

Learning all the time mate (and hopefully getting better at it).

Thanks for the good comments :D

This is wonderful and really cool hybrid between the Gary Moore version and the original - but with even more guitar!! Really impressive indeed! And one of the LOUDEST guitar solos ever!!! Stunning playing Captain. And superlative vocals from the Maestro!

Gotta be 5!

Great stuff! probably the most played song in club/pub land ever . You know no matter how often i hear this track i never sicken of it , it has that ridiculously simple riff ( why cant i invent that:headscratch: ) that grabs you , and your gone .

Nice tones Capitan , dam i hate it when other people get better tones from V-Amps than me :mad1: , i must read the manual again . and hey whats this !!!!!!!!!!!

you've stolen my vocalist :mad1: :mad1: , you give him back hes mine i tell you , all mine :mad1: . Great vocals John , you're a bloody star for sure .

You know talking of Paul Koss , rumor has it he was plain awful at playing rhythm , in fact Andy Fraser was the guy that taught Koss the chords , worse still i heard somewhere that Paul Rogers played most of the rhythm and solos on the last 2 albums , and possibly this one . If anybody knows that to be true please clarify .

Not that it would make me dislike Koss , i love those early Free albums , and that unmistakable vibrato he used . Nobody gets close to that , which i find odd because its such a good technique , but it is hard to do.

Anyway guys , killer track , really awesome !!!!!!

As if YOU need to get better tones mate!!!

OK - just for info, I record thru the S/PDIF digital outlet straight into my soundcard. What I THEN do is to set the V-amp to "L1" mode, i.e. with cab sims and 3-way eq - then I boost the treble in the 3-way eq adjustment - even if I have to cut the gain back a bit to compensate and avoid overloading the signal.

This seems to brightens the sound up a treat for me and gives it more of a 'real' sound. I always find the V-amp to sound more than a little 'muddy' with the speaker sims active when recording direct if I DON'T boost the treble. But then for live or rehearsing, I have to cut the treble back to 'flat' and restore the gain level for analogue output to the front end of my poweramp.

and hey whats this !!!!!!!!!!!

you've stolen my vocalist :mad1: :mad1: , you give him back hes mine i tell you , all mine :mad1: . Great vocals John , you're a bloody star for sure .

No WAY Jose! ... he's MINE now ... and you'll have to come to Glasgow to fight me for 'im
:chucks:
