This a fantastic, edgey cover where you've gone for the Eno sound on the guitar with heavy vibrato... sounds great. Vocals are uncanny, I had forgotten you were singing it and thought it was Bowie at the start! You sing it really well! Great pipes. I actually dont like the Bowie almost starts yelling/crying at the end of the original.
Contructive comments: I think it would be worth going to the trouble of recording a live tamborine instead of that drum machine version over this. Its blocking out that Eno guitar second time round. Secondly, I would love to hear some backing vocals doing the "I remember" and "By the wall" to really bring out those parts.
Hope you dont take these comments in a bad way, cos I really, really like your version better than Bowies in many ways (afore mentioned yelling/crying). You sing it far more powerfully and I think the song desrves that.

Well, thank you for all the kinds words M8. And you are right...I should have put in the background vox and I will do that. I was in rush mood,..LOL,.. having alot of projects going at once for friends here on GB. I will do a re-mix and post it again. There are some spots on the main vox track I want to change also. But,..WTF it was fun putting together and I appreciate the feedback. As for the midi and the tamborine,..couldn't change it and I wanted to believe me! It sounds to machine!...:D
Thanks again M8.

Bahamut, thanks bro,..Means alot coming from you! I try M8.:o I use 2 Rhythm tracks on this one,..one in standard tuning and the other in Drop D. If you pan from left to right you can hear each guitar. It fattened it up some and I thought it was a good add in!
Thanks again my man!

I can hear both elements of Bowie and the Wallflowers. I like your upper register in the second half of the song. Very solid recording and a welcome song choice!!

Cool man! Loved the vox and the guitars, very spacey, not so much the backer, but oh well, that´s life, LOL! I think I never have heard this song before, so I can´t say which is the difference between Dylan´s son take with the Wallflowers and Bowie´s, but wtf, ya sure kicked ass here! :woot:

The best part of the Godzilla movie was this song. Jacob and Co did a very good version and this is as good if not better (midi backing aside, because nothing beats real instrumentation :)). Vocals are very strong and the guitar playing is spot on. Really impressive cover!!

I never heard the Bowie version, just the Wallflowers. So, i think it was a very cool cover, but i think this one would be more like the DB version instead the WFlowers. Great vocals!!
First off i would like to say i like this version so much better than the original..Although i do love Bowie very much, its the fact that you both gave this song a much more edgier vibe.It has almost a more darker and heavier thing going on,and i likes dat very much...Rock on fellows :yourock:

Ooh naughty! Next to Time and Cracked Actor this is probably me fave bowie track.
If me remembers rightly it was Robert Fripp who played guitar on the original. I remember seeing Bowie do this with Mick Ronson at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert.
Just for the record Mick used an E bow to get that sustained note throughout the song. Anyway this is an excellent cover mate. :thumb:
