Hey! Whats up? I used to hang out at guitars101, but it looks to me like all the COOL PEOPLE have migrated over to GB! I used to go by the nick Rj or rjfoster at g101 (for those that may recall - or not hehehe) I'll be going by 88stratocaster here.

I look forward to hanging out with you all here!

In the meantime, heres a cover of an old gerry rafferty tune called Baker Street that I did a while back.

Enjoy!

Amazing stuff man, great production on this.

Thx Netrom - this song was all mixed here on the PC at home and was done via online collaboration. I spent about 3 months tweaking the mix, because this song was to be featured on a compilation CD that was given to Mr. Rafferty himself for a christmas present! :) Ive never worked on a song so hard in my life before - but the effort was worth it in the end I guess.

Thx again!

Remember it well RJ - quality cover!! How is the Nexus Breeze holding out? I have been having some overheating problems with mine - the sides are off in hot weather :)

Welcome to GuitarBlast,88stratocaster.

What a super super cover, so fresh and new, the voclaist drummer, bass and YOU are awesome. Excellent Guitar tones...the extended solo was very nice some lovely blues/almost Iron Maiden influenced licks there.

This was superb a big 5 from me

Great tune and I love the fresh approach to it. Before I even read through the comments, I recognized RJMJ's voice straight away. Awesome job guys!!

THAT'S it, I give up, there is no way I will ever play or record that well. Anyone wanna buy a few Carvins and Deans? j/k I'm not selling them.

First, it's an excellent arrangement. Definitely gives this song more of a rock attitude. I like the variety of tones you employed too. And of course, Rod is one of my fav vocalists, so you can't go wrong there. I agree about the Iron Maiden influence on the harmonized parts; it is reminiscent of their style. Great post!!

hanks for checking out the tune! Glad you enjoyed it! This tune is the result of literally MONTHS of recording, re-recording, mixing and re-mixing, so keep on plugging - you'll learn a lot as you go along! Plus there are lots of folks here who can answer questions - myself included.... :)

See u around the forum! :)

Thanks for checking out the tune ksdb! Glad you liked it! I remember you from g101 too - lots of familiar nicknames here. As for the Iron Maiden influence - yep - I have to admit that its there - those guys were a big part of my musical listening (and jamming) background in my younger days. Heck - they are still awesome! :)
