Hey all, I apologize if this might be old news to anyone, but I just recently found out about these guys, they're called "Between the Buried and Me". Unfortunately, most of the album that I heard contained excellent musicianship ruined by crappy Cookie Monster vocals.

However, in a moment of clarity, they dropped the Cookie Monster act and got serious with this song. When I reached this song, my jaw just dropped to the floor as I really didn't think bands were capable of recording stuff like this anymore. It really is some of the best guitar/compositional work I've heard from a band in years. It's like they crossed the technical proficiency of Dream Theater with the emotion of Queensryche.

Enjoy:

See what you mean about the Dream Theater and Quensryche comparison/mix up.

Some interesting stuff in there, but I unfortunately don't find too much inspiring about it ... just my personal taste.
