when I try to open a song in say "mp3 covers" I get the following error "Pins cannot connect due to not supporting the same transport" with media player. Any suggestions, thanks.

I've seen this before, I think your mediaplayer is associated to .PLS extensions (playlists) which it can't play, they are meant for such applications as winamp. Maybe install winamp.
