Right ladies and gents , we have the video Jam worked out :D
Theres gonna be 6 slots which consist of classic xmas songs , which have been scaled down to fit into each other for a video jam :)
Avalon kindly made the backer for us and we thought this would be a excellent idea , so this how the songs follows :)

Amazing Grace - Start - 1:37 (Avalon)
Silent Night - 1:38 - 2:35 (Bahamut)
Away In A Manger - 2:36 - 3:20
Lord Is My Sheperd - 3:21 - 4:41
Walking In The Air - 4:42 - 5:50 (Pod God)
White Christmas - 5:51 - End (KCAR)

OKAY EVERYONE THIS IS NOW A NORMAL JAM , NOT A VIDEO JAM , SO RECORD YOUR PARTS AS NORMAL AND SEND THEM TO ME VIA PM :)

EDIT: I just downloaded a midi for that "Away in a Manger". Man I think I never heard that one before, no kidding! LMAO! Sooo, I´d love to play over that slot if possible please, :)

Well you don't have to stick right to the originals Linoman, just as long as ppl can make out what time slot your playing to, resembles slightly to the original :woot:

After some thought and reviewing the backer, I would like to claim the "Silent Night" slot (#2). This is a very good sounding backer and I really think you've done a great job of only giving us a modest amount of backing instruments to work with, just enough for us to be able to follow along and to subtley fill in the space around our guitar parts. I am looking forward to this. I have have a few ideas about how I want to do my video portion! :notme:

Oh shit...I just now realized that Bahamut had selected slot 2. Mart, if you want it, by all means you should have it. I would be just as happy with White Christmas (slot 6). Lemme know. :thumb:

Thanks mate, that was kinda what i was going for with it, i wanted something that was as simple to play or as difficult as the player wanted it really, with enough backing to play along to without detracting from what the guitarist will be doing.
Thanks for the feedback, and great to have yourself and Charles onboard for it :)

Gawd, i am such an idiot!!! :tard: Not only did I not see that Bahamut had Silent Night, but i also failed to see that White Christmas was PodGod's choice! :toothless:

Since you claimed it first, Charles, it is all yours amigo! I guess I've got some Googling to do, eh? :D

I certainly was not trying to steal it from you...I just didn't read the whole thread before chiming in! :tard: But I would understand if you wanted the shorter slot since you will have most of the work ahead of you in editing it all together. I will definitely need to ask you a few questions about that before I get started. I also had an idea of putting a Santa hat on the "G" of the "GuitarBlast" logo for the watermark of this video. What you think about that idea?

Na, I'm fine with Walking in the Air. Already started arranging it :) Actually, the editing part isn't all that bad now that I have one jam under my belt and know what to do, lol. A Santa hat would look awesome on the watermark. Great idea:rock: When you're ready to record your part, let me know and I'll help ya with the format and settings:)

Either way, get started as soon as you can cause Christmas is creeping up on us and I'd like to get this out by then.

Either way, get started as soon as you can cause Christmas is creeping up on us and I'd like to get this out by then.I'll prolly crank it out this weekend. Is there a thread that describes this process? What is the recommended process for recording the audio and marrying it with the video? And how do we manage to splice it together so we each do not end up with different EQ settings for each section of the backer?

Right mate, here is the Snowman (Walking In The Air) By The Shadows (Instrumental) , and Away In A Manger By Max Bigraves, which is a vocal version of the song, but the vocal melody is there to work off for guitar.
Just remember i loosely worked off these, so the arrangement and key might not be the same, i used these as reference for rather then direct a copy, but as i said the melody is there, so hopefully its of some use :)

If u want a similiar sample Jeff for your slot, just say the word mate :thumb:

If u want a similiar sample Jeff for your slot, just say the word mate :thumb:Thanks for the offer Jamie, but I was able to find a MIDI file that has a few jazzy little licks in it in addition to the main melody, which I may try to incorporate as well. So, can we go multi-track with our section (harmonies and such), so long as the main melody is playable live on the actual video?

Good to see more guys are in, :thumb:. As I see, we only need one more, cmmon, I´m sure there has to be more guitarrists around here with a lil web cam ;)!
Been messing with the melody tonight, but man, if I stick to the one I have on the midi I downloaded I just can´t fit it in (transposed to e as yours that is) your track, it´s the timing changes I still don´t get like I do over the lil midi one. Lemme check out this last file you put up, downloading it as typing. I will eventually get it done, most likely not this weekend, but on the next one when I´ll have 4 days off work.
EDIT: Listening to it now. WAY different from the midi I have. Ok, I´ll check it out and see.

Thanks Jamie, itīs ok, now that I listened to that file you put up it all makes sense. The midi I downloaded was a completely different arrangement with more or less the same melody. As for the ties Tony, i was hoping as i went dressed as Santa, we could get u dressed as an Elf, maybe Mart as a Raindear and so on :toothless: , if i have to do a second slot im going to go buy some Marks Brothers Glasses and Mustash to wear for that one

I have zero time at the moment, Wendy has had a minor op and it has knocked her for six, she is more or less bedbound and I have to manage the kids, house, work etc, mot'ing the car, buying a new car, too much going on. I have not even had time to get the kids together to do the Slade jam yet ... coming soon once I am off nights tho.
Anyway, I can do the last slot, but it will probably take a few days. No probs if this is too long, Jamie would do a better job than me anyway .

First of all, you gonna give one big hug from this unknown dude to Wendy 5 minutes at the most after reading this, secondly, go ahead an do it. Time is priceless, so is fun. A bit of hedonism for us all at the PC shouldnīt be a bad one.

Okay guys well with what we have it isn't enough for the vid jam, so im afraid im gonna pull the plug on it, its a shame but theres just not the interest sadly :(
I will however convert this into a normal jam, so if you fellas want to keep onboard and just record your parts normally, i will sort out the mixing and we can have this as part of the Gb xmas cd lineup :)
I shall see if we can get some interest for the remaining slots :thumb:
