No doubt about it. These gents can DEFINATELY play. Playing that clean on acoustic is praiseworthy enough on its own. But doing it so effortlessly live in a duet like fashion is just awesome. Not my cup of tea musically... sort of requires a bit too much attention and i can't really relax into it which i like to do. But theres no doubting the talent.

Dimeola's trem picking is the real eye opener for me. He's the master at it. And, as you said - how clean he is on acoustic is rather amazing. Of course both Dimeola and McLaughlin were taken in by Miles Davis as teens and he honed their skills. Miles always picked the whitey guitarists :)

God that is sick! Al is da man!!!
See what acoustic guitars can do? :thumb:
There are a lot of lead guitar players out there that can rip it up on electric guitars. But how many of them can play like this on acoustic? I would bet hardly any!
Al DiMeola was one of the guys that inspired me to take up the acoustic guitar more closley when I was younger. (Along with Roy Clark and Chet Atkins)

Al was a major influence to me. My brother turn me on to him when I was a teenager. I was blown away!

It's fun to see them kind of duel it out.
But in a nice way - John even laughs a few times.
Great stuff!
