Here is our cover of Def Leppard's Bringing on the Heartbreak from the 1981 lp. High and Dry. For me Def Leppard does'nt exist past Pyromania. The early LP's had a killer sound unlike anything that came after. As you will hear, vocals on this one are absolutely smokin!! Rod did an excellent job on this!! Thanks man for takin the time out on this one! For the lead I used 4 tracks with 2 leads in each speaker. I used the Zakk LP, V-amp2 and audacity. Like most of my covers, its not note for note but pretty close. Crank This Up!!!

Once I dropped the string height a bit and set the intonation, it played like I had it for years. I threw in a pair of the real deal Zakk EMG 81/85's the day I got it. Thanks for listening too!

That was almost perfect. If you only had the harmony vox it would have sounded better than Def. Awesome!!! The lead vox mix and guitars were perfect! I loved it and I hate the band.lol!!!!

Very impressive. The guitars sound full and heavy, but I have to give special props to RJ. I think this is a very special vocal performance. You really laid it all out. Awesome you guys.

starting with the guitars murph you did an excellent job. tone was spot on and the double lead was way too cool. rod did a fantastic with the vocals. such an unuque tone you have and a great range. i love it most when you do klaus but you really fit this cover well. i don't understand what you mean when you say you ran out of time to do the harmony. there was a time limit on this? i feel you should take the time now and add the harmony. this is done so well so far it is worthy of the time needed to add them.

I never liked anything past Pyromania either. Everything from Hysteria on was waaaaay overproduced IMO. I thought you guys did an excellent job on this. Can't really fault it in any way!!! WTG guys:rock:

wow such a fantastically mixed pro recording.....I like the vox without all the harmonies you guys make this sound like a demo of the original:)

The guitar work is flawless....much respect...That clean guitar section is very tough to pull off exactly in time with the music...but this was spot on just like the record..

I am speechless....great guys:thumb:

Great cover.
Superb guitars, the tone and playing are top class.. :thumb:

Rod's vocal is probably the best I've heard from him outside of the amazing vocal he contributed to our collab on a cover of the White Lion song "Wait".......

Would have liked a bit more bass guitar in the mix but hey......... that's just personal preference

Brilliant job, the both of you :thumb:

Yet another big 5

Had to come back to this one and do a follow up comment. Your version of the song really stuck in my head. Truly a special piece of work, especially considering it wasn't really one of my favorite Def Leppard tracks. I'm listening again today. :yourock:

Hey thanks a lot for the great comments everyone!! Yeah this song stuck in my head for a couple weeks. The only way I can get it out is to record it. I never change the tunes all that much, just beef em up a little and bring out the guitars so you can hear them. I do a lot of 2-4 track layering of rhythms and leads, and when I pan I have them 100% left and right. Other than that I just listen to it over and over and adjust whatever bugs me in the mix. I dont do any eq-ing at all. Just volume adjustments.

Abso-bloody-lutely marvellous!! :D

Murph & Rod, this was truly excellent.

Shame though ... I was waiting for the full-blown segue into "Switch-625" at the end! Never mind .. next time maybe?

Some useless trivia about this track. I dont have a tremlo so I had to improvise. At the end of the tune I hit the last note and then reach across with my right hand and slowly unwind the string. I had doubled that lead so I had to do it twice. Worked ok eh? Rock and Roll isnt pretty! Working on a 5150 replica so I'll have a trem soon!
