Im still getting the hang of recording this amp but here goes...
Video: 3ZkCZEGAIzE
http://www.youtube.com/v/3ZkCZEGAIzE
Sounds clips:
Gibson SG '61 reissue with emphasis on normal channel: http://www.esnips.com/doc/5c99d54f-3...adc61/BRAY-SG1
Gibson SG '61 reissue with emphasis on treble channel: http://www.esnips.com/doc/05f869ac-3...8d95b/BRAY-SG2
legato, tapping sweeping with Gibson SG: http://www.esnips.com/doc/52b4f390-d...ATOTAP-SNIPPET
Bluesy with JYM fender strat: http://www.esnips.com/doc/c4325fa2-0...SNIPPIT-BLUES2
Can't wait to try more of guitars through this amp.
All clips are raw amp except the van halen stuff at the end of the video which has an MXR flanger, phase90 in front and some delay in the loop. I added a dash of reverb afterwards. Its recorded on xmas day deep underground in an old world war2 bomb shelter. The video has some latency issues but that's youtube. If you can't get esnips to play the file, download it and have a listen.
Thanks!

Nice tone...bet it cost a pretty penny (or should that be Yen!) :thumb:

Yen is japan Wah! China is RMB or Yuan. It was about $2000US delivered which is not bad considering the Re-issue plexi without any modifications costs over $3000aus back home in australia. I dont know how anyone affords good amps in australia.
Cheers

Uke: We haven't been playing much lately as we are in the process of having a new bass player come on board. Its a great scene in shanghai because its so small, new and fresh. Most of the chinese bands just want to play chilli peppers. Like 3 bands will get up in a row and play peppers. We get the lions share of classic rock! 'Van who?' 'Jimi what?'. Beijing is the city for true rock n roll in china but I like shanghai's smaller scene. Less aggressive and friendly. Shanghai's background is the jazz circuit. Everyone's really welcoming and there's not a whole lot of 'attitude'.
I tell you when I bring that marshall out it turns heads. My drummer has started wearing earplugs (he's a pom though ;))
The guitar stores are the best. Back home in australia I always got treated with attitude and would get dirty looks when I ask to play the Les Paul hanging from the top shelf...in china they love having foreign guitarists come in and play whatever you want so they can learn. They call you up when they have a new Gibson on the top shelf. You're their Buddha for an hour long lunchbreak. I dont know if they learn much from me though so I just crack jokes instead :)

Well it sure seems like you have the attitude for building up a band and playing over there, kuddos, :thumb:. Bedroom player over here, always been, always will. It sucks, but oh well. Math is cool too!

And readers are leaders! Nah Im very much the bedroom player too. We're pretty sloppy and I can't sing. Its more about having fun jamming, not so much regular gigging.
Thanks for watching supercharged and stiglar! Hey supercharged, what speakers are you running your splawn through?

Couple different things Paul. My Isocab that I record with has a Celestion V30 in it. My Mesa 4X12 has Celestion custom 90's in it.

sweet sounding amp. but as we all know marshals sound better with volume on 8 -10 so piss off the neighbors and lets hear it with the tubes glowing.

Eamon: The amp is on 10, both treble and normal channels - the PPI master volume is around 4 or 5. Believe it or not this clip was recorded deep underground in an old world war2 bomb shelter with no issues of neighbours! Normally the amp puts out a sweet feedback but Im sitting off to the side of the amp, not directly in front of it, so the volume is not apparent. When Im playing over the blues backing track I could hardly hear it at all in the headphones. I used a shure57 beta to record this and Im only just finding out its not anywahere near as good as the standard shure57 for recording amps. Oh well 'always the beginner'. The standard shure 57 is much warmer.
Supercharged: Id like to hear my amp through some v30's...Im picking up a new 2x12 cab next week that has a mix of v30 and g12t75's...its should be a little more aggressive than the greenbacks. My speakers are all brand new...need some warming in time. :boobies:

Yeah, I'm sure those speakers will need some breaking in time. The greenies are really popular with the Splawn guys too. The V30's have a bit more of a mid spike that some like and some hate. I'd like to get a couple of different speakers to try with my Isocab since it only holds one speaker.
Keep the clips coming bro, it sounds great. :thumb:
Too cool about the bomb shelter! How'd that come about??
