Man it was a nail biter for most of it. I had my doubts going into the 2nd half, but then we started playing good ball. Moss beat Jerry Rice's record and Brady beat Mannings. There were a slew of other records broken as well. Gives them good momentum going into the playoffs and a first round bi-week doesnt hurt either. 35 years is a long time to hold a record. Miami should be proud. I disagree with that part about me kicking your arse though lol.

Congrats Patriots and Murph!!
The Patriots are a great team, containing my all time favorite player Tom Brady(my second favorite is Joe Montana)
great team hope they continue this momentum in the playoffs,
my only concern with the patriots is they traded their clutch "save the day" field goal kicker to the colts. :jawdrop:
16-0 is an incredible accomplishment,
congratulations

That kicker you refer to, we dont miss him. He hasnt been too hot since leaving the Pat's. I got no complaints about Steve Gostkowski. Check his stats out (http://www.patriots.com/team/index.cfm?ac=playerbio&bio=32013) and that doesnt include last nights game.
You SUCK!!!!........hehehehe!!! LOL!!!!
Nah, really i think it's pretty kickass that the record may finally be broken. I know a lot of people don't consider it on the same level unless they actually win the SuperBowl, but going 16-0, two better than the Dolphins '72 regular season, i definitely think it's in the cards for them. I am not going to say "Go Pats" though.....oh shit....i just did!!! LOL!!!:thumb:

LOLOL I agree man. If they dont win the big one then it dont mean shat!! Believe me, they are thinking that too. They have a first round bi and home field advantage for the playoffs then its off to Az.

well I've had the pleasure of seeing and watching Adam Vinatieri(now the colts field goal kicker) help win game after game for the New England Patriots
even though you say you don't "miss him", when it comes "crunch time" I think New England Patriots "Could" miss him,
there is no better kicker in the NFL based on what I've witnessed,
stats are great for people who pay attention to them,(ie. fantasy football, devoted passionate NFL fans, etc) but personally I don't put much "stock" into them, especially in using stats comparatively in the regular season as opposed to stats in the playoffs
that metaphor is apples and oranges
but I'm much more interested in the results during the NFL playoffs, teams play at a much higher proficiency and in general a "higher level" of competiveness,
and because of that you need a really good "Clutch performance" field goal kicker
so I put stock into successful results, and Adam Vinatieri has been the most successful(including helping win recent SuperBowls) "clutch performance" field goal kicker in the NFL.

I'm just glad the Giants came out and played and didn't roll over or there would have been a few *s after these new records. They made it one hell of a game. The stodgy old '72 Dolphins probably won't feel their record's broken until and if the Pats win it all. Congrats Pats on the incredible season!

Hey calm down guy. Let me rephrase it. When I said we dont miss him, I meant the team is not hurting without him. You cant take away what he did for the team, thats a fact. He was beyond awesome. He won many games for them. I meant that the new kicker is money in the bank and great under pressure the same way Adam was for them. He is a hard act to follow, but they just finished their best season without him. I've been a fan all my life. I remember when they were the Boston Patriots. I've met a few of them over the years including John Smith another great leg they had.

maybe I'm going to be the next Nostradamus :notme:
what's that popular saying?
"put your money where your mouth is", well I did just that and made a bunch of money,
but first some thoughts:
the New England Patriots had an excellent season, Way to GO!!!
they will be back to challenge again, Tom Brady is a winner
looking at the whole scandal thing this season, it was probably better they didn't go 19-0 since you know every conspiracy theorist would always say it's because they cheated, and not because they earned it,
so back to my story,
I've been talking with my friends who have been saying that the Patriots would go 19-0, I said they wouldn't
why would I say that(especially since I was rooting for them to be perfect this season)
1. the chances of beating a team as good as the NewYork Giants 3 times in one season is not very likely,
2. if the Patriots allow the Giants an opportunity it will likely come back to hurt them
3. the loss of Adam Vinateri would come back to hurt them
so my friends challenged me to make a bet for the Giants(full well knowing I was a Tom Brady/Patriots fan) and that the Giants would win, I did just that
my rationale besides item #1, I said the Patriots will lose if all these 3 things occur(which I knew was a very real possibility):
in regards to #2, if the Patriots play it safe(which was not the way they played most of this season) thoughout the game, instead of being aggressive offensively and instead try to control the game by controlling field position and if the Patriots have turnovers then there was a good chance that given the opportunity NY Giants would take advantage and win,
what I mean by that is I'm not a fan of this strategy, and many times have seen it be unsuccessful, including this time
at the time I said if the patriots try to play it safe maybe in a prevent defense or too cautious of an offense(without spreading the field out more), &/or try to trade turnovers this would make the game close enough they could lose,
that's what happened
in regards to #3,
that the Patriots(when in crunchtime namely the playoff's) do not have a reliable fieldgoal kicker,
(as I've stated previously the loss of Adam Vinateri was a big mistake IMHO)
isn't it ironic that the patriots fieldgoal kicker in playoffs(crunchtime) was not very reliable, missing significant fieldgoals
isn't it ironic that the Pats lost by 3 points(a fieldgoal)
and it's ironic that during the SuperBowl game when the team has an opportunity to take a fieldgoal that they instead chose not to because their fieldgoal kicker is not reliable.
a fieldgoal that would have tied the game,
dang sometimes I wish I wasn't right so much(like I said I was rooting for the Pats to be perfect this season) but I'm also an objective realistic knowledgeable sportsfan
the Pats are a great team hope they learn from their mistakes,
and I think I'll look into being the next Nostradamus
