Hi there guys and gals...

Just wanted to jump up and down and wave my arms around in celebration. As I've banged out about previously, I have bad hearing loss. Unfortunately, there are very few products out there that allow for this to be rectified.

(Note to self, maybe a potential market for me to tap into ?)

Anyway, I have found a couple of things that have allowed me to hear music like never before. I think I'm maybe listening to it as closely as other people would hear it, but again, I would never ever know that for sure.

I've got some dual music ear hooks (http://www.rnid.org.uk/shop/products/listening_devices/music_link_with_dual_ear_hooks.htm) that are like headphones but they loop behind my ears and send radio waves directly into my hearing aids that my hearing aids pick up and then send the signals into my ears.

This coupled with the Ozone plug in for Winamp allows me to listen to music like I have never heard it before !

I only notice the difference when songs I am extremely familiar with come on and I am like, "Shit, I never knew it sounded THAT rich and full !"

For example, Poundcake, by Van Halen just came on. And the amount of stuff I can hear going on in comparison is amazing. I can actually hear him playing that guitar. It is really quite amazing.

I really should get some of these ear hooks for back home, cuz currently I only have them for my work setup.

Anyway, just wanted to share, and if anyone has some electronics knowledge I've got some great ideas for devices that would help people like me !

Glad your ears have a new lease of life. Hard for me to relate to, but I think I felt the same when I invested in a new set of headphones. You really notice the little things!!

I just wish there was a product that worked well in all situations (on the phone, listening to music, listening to T.V. at home, in noisy environments like a pub or restaurant, using the mobile, in meetings, etc.). That is the frustrating thing.

Still, could be worse I suppose, can't complain. A couple of years ago, I didn't even have the hearing aids and so didn't even think the mildest improvements were remotely possible.

Great news Dave...I'm pretty sure technology will make deafness of some kinds depleted in the near future.
