Hey guys,
I figured someone here could help me out. LOL A friend of mine is getting married next year and asked for my help on a song that she plans on dancing with her father. She wants to take the song and replace when the singer states 3 names, to the 3 names of her grandparents. She thought it would be a nice tribute. Do you know if there is any DJ or any place that she can send the track to that could make that kind of adjustment to a song? If anyone has an answer to this, it would be greatly appreciated. I am going to make a couple of calls as well, but I figured I'd put this out here for all my music gurus....LOL :) Thanks!

Depending on the track, you can do some quite good vocal/voice removal in in programs like Adobe 3, depending what else is on the track, it can remove some of the other frequencys used by the song, but sometimes you can lower it enough to speak over/sing over and once your voice is there, you can't hear whats left of the previous vocal.
So thats definately an option, how well it could work depends largely on the track though, hope this helps abit :)

Hi there,
Like Avalon says, there is a function in Adobe Audacity. It mirrors the frequency from the left to the right, or something like that. As the vocal is usually smack bang in the middle, it ends up cancelling out the vocal track.
I used it on a Thunder track once and it worked really well.
So I guess that you could just load it in, select the sections of the vocal that need to be cancelled out and perform this function, then record the 3 names to it and hey presto.

Thank you guys!!! :) I appreciate it. The song is called "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" by George Jones. It is a special song for my friend and her dad. I am going to find the song and do my best to edit/remove the vocals on the correct parts. If I need your help, please don't be surprised if I bug you all again. LOL  :) I think I am going to try to convince her to sing the chorus parts and have her speak the names of her grandparents. I think it'll be a special addition and tug on the heart strongs of all those in attendance on her big day. LOL:)
