Hey can you post your temps running idle and under minimal load for comparion. Also what voltage did you settle for to get the 3.6ghz?

Thanks!

Motherboard fucked up so had to wait on replacement.
Rebuilt machine, still playing about with overclocking it to find suitable and stable overclock. Think I may need to go watercooling eventually...

Took out 2gb of RAM to aid in the overclocking, having 4 sticks lessens the overclock.
Temperatures get to high at this clock though when 100% load on 4 cores and machine restarts.
Built in thermal protection on the C2Q I imagine.

I'm aiming for a stable 3.6ghz overclock again but pain in arse starting from scratch again.
I got it to boot at 4ghz earlier but wouldn't load windows (didnt think it would!) but with some fancy cooling I bet it could.
Just a shame I can't be bothered watercooling! Looks like load of hassle.

Motherboard is key for OC. I use an Abit IP-35 Pro. It's solid and has so many tweaks in the BIOS. I took mine up to 4Ghz recently....and then Blue Screen'ed it. after 20 mins of benchmarks :) Got lucky because nothing was corrupted. You can do 3.2 on air. 3.6 you will need overvoltage on the CPU and RAM as well...but as you know then heat is the issue. In my BIOS I can disable the thermal protection. See if you can do that and use something like "speedfan" or the like "core temp" to keep an eye on the heat you might get there. Good luck with it my friend. (for RAM, I love the Crucial Ballistix series). That or a Dodge RAM....:tard: http://www.dodge.com/en/2008/ram_1500/
