Well even though I think Supernova's music sucks major ass from what I've heard them perform on the show, I admit the show has been entertaining enough for me to be a regular watcher. I am a fan of the guys "former bands". They are all better musicians to be playing this kind of crap.

I thought from the very beginning that either Lukas or Toby would be the winner and well last night they picked Lukas as their new lead singer. He seems like a great fit for the kind of music they're doing and Lukas has a cool voice but I won't spend any money on their music. I don't consider their music to be very heavy or interesting at all. It sounds too much like all the other younger so called hard rock bands of today. Not much substance in the music. New rock just can't compare to the 70's and 80's hard rock and metal. I can't believe Jason Newsted is even remotely interested in Supernova's crappy style of music after being in Flotsam and Jetsam and Metallica?

Most modern rock to me is pure garbage, (except for the few lesser known newer bands that play 80's style metal) that is Force-fed to masses by the radio because they know that most listeners, usually non-musicians, are like "sheep" who think anything is good just because its on the radio. Those idiots don't really know what they like...just what they're told to like.

Any comments on my statement above? I really feel like this is true.

Hello Rain, yeah I thought Lukas, Toby and Magni had the best originals of all the contestants. I didn't like any of the girls vocals or originals. I like alot of female singers just not any on this show. Stevie Nicks and Pat Benetar are a million times better than any of the girls on that show.

I'm really glad Lukas won. The guy has been workin his ass off for the past 15 years in lesser known bands up here in Canada, and it has finally paid off:rock: As for Supernova's music, I haven't really heard enough to make a decision. I will say this though... neither Tommy or Jason did much songwriting in Metallica and Motley Crue. So, I can only assume that Gilby has been doing the majority of the songwriting. He didn't do any with GNR (only toured with them), but I do have his solo albums and was a fan of his before he joined Guns(when nobody knew who he was). He had a band called Kill For Thrills that I just loved. He did all the songwriting, guitars and singing in that band and I really liked the music. I hope Supernova's music is in that style, but that was 16 years ago, so I doubt it.

I haven't heard of Kills for Thrills...do you think I would like any of it? recommend any songs? I'd like to check them out if their stuff exists on the internet.:thumb:

Well, if you can find them on the internet let me know. All I have is cassettes, lol. The debut CD Dynamite From Nightmareland was typical sleaze rock in the vein of LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, etc. They were just starting to take off when Gilby was recruited for GNR.

Well I've been searching for a website and there doesn't seem to be. I haven't found any clips to listen to anywhere, just some of Gilby's solo stuff. I like the LA Metal stuff so Im sure I would like it then.

I wonder how they could already have completed originals with Lukas on vocals released to the public when Lukas just found out he won last week?:headscratch:

They had the music all done, so it wouldn't take that long to cut the vocals. They posted them at yahoo (http://music.yahoo.com/ar-35857415---Rock-Star-Supernova) but if you look around you may find them elsewhere;)

Hmm, seems though that it would take more than a week to lay down an album's worth of vocals and re-mix it all?

I think they'd probably do whatever it takes to get the tracks out within a week or 2 of the series ending . before everyone forgets or loses interest . I think with the right producers and long hours they could get it done .
