What do you guys recommend?

I have seen an HP 2207W (not the 2207h version) that I liked. Glossy screen.
Really had an excellent picture, but I fear that it might be too "glarry?"

There are some nice 20" that have the same resolution and they say the dot pitch is finer on those since the pixel area is smaller. :headscratch:

I would love an IPS or MVA panel as opposed to a TN panel, but those are a fortune $$$.

Anybody have some pro's and con's I can consider?
Right now I am using a Viewsonic normal aspect 17" (VP171b). A bit small, but prices have really come down to the point where I can almost afford the upgrade.

OK, perhaps let me re-phrase the question. What do you guys use for monitors and do you like what you are using enough to buy it again?

Just got this one for the wifes comp.......not from here, but got it locally for pretty much the same price. Seems to be very clear and no real issues that i can tell. I know it's not "top of the line" but for the price, couldn't really pass it up. Was also recommended from a Geek Squad friend of ours, not that that really means much!! LOL!!!

Those seem very nice. I like the idea of a non-widescreen like that Westinghouse. I find it's more a gimick with Widescreen. But...I am asking for opinions, so please keep them coming. Thanks guys for your input. Appreciated.

That is one jewel of a monitor! My sister and her husband have one. Whenever I visit, I am always in awe of both the color, the viewing angles, the sharpness, and the shear beauty of it. If money were no object, that is THE monitor I would target. Congrats F.A. That is a kick ass monitor!!

The 20" Dell widescreen is a great monitor you should look into that. Should come in under your price range.

The only thing is that it's a TN panel so viewing angles would suffer as well as color reproduction. And to be honest...those 20" models all tend to cut the top to bottom of the screen to less than I have now (and I have a 17" monitor).

If I could get the same top to bottom measurements with the added wide screen and under my price cap...then were talking!! :)

Thanks for chiming in. Hey...did you ever get your rig sorted out? I know you had a MB problem. Hopefully, you are all reassembled and fully functional by now. Damn...we love our PC's don't we. :) :thumb:

Still above my price point, but it has "the stuff" imo. That is no TN panel.
20" should be a good increase from 17" and games can run native resolution without difficulty. But I will need to wait...a while...a long while. :)
